Every Born again Believer has one thing that is so awesome and very powerful at their disposal. That thing is called Prayer. In fact, I can't even describe just how awesome and powerful the operation of Prayer is for the believer.

Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Now think about that. When you pray, you have Resurrection power, available to you. The same power that raised our Lord from the dead. Dead things in your life concerning family, Jobs, your businesses, your finances, Protection for you and your own, sick things in your body that have become weak, can be brought back to life with this Resurrection Power. Things in your life can be made whole, with nothing missing or broken. Every time you pray, keep this in mind. Say to yourself, I have Resurrection Power available to my life and circumstance. Nothing can stay dead, Nothing.

Now, what happens if our prayer life is not full of power, and things seem to take way to long for the Lord to answer? Worse, what happens if our need is not meet and it seems to late? Let me tell you something, God designed prayer to work, and work every time in your behalf. God did not design prayer to only work sometimes, or not work at all. God did put in place however, spiritual laws that we must be aware of. Laws that if broken, will stop the operation of answered Prayer. Now, there can be a bunch of reasons Prayer is not answered, and we could not possibly cover everything, but we can look at some things that must be in place, for Prayer to Work as God designed it. These are not in order of importance.
Spiritual Laws for Prayer to Work

You must pray according to God's Will.

1Jn 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
1Jn 5:15
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Never, Never go to God in Prayer without knowing what his will is. We do not determine the will of God after we pray. (If God answers it, then it must be his will, if not, than it was not the will of God.) No, the scripture says you must ask according to the Will of God, and to do that, you must know his will. You are also promised that what you asked, you will have.
Most believers just pray any old thing. They call it praying from the heart. They go to God hoping something might be his will. This could be anything from making a mortgage payment to saving their sick and dying child. They have no idea if God wants to help them or not. They just hope and pray he does want to help. Praying this way is a sure way not to get your prayer answered. It's not that God does not want to answer the prayer, but God told you in his word to come to him, knowing his will concerning any matter.
God never answers pray NO, God never answers pray Maybe.
The answer is always yes, because we come to God according to His Will. This is the only respectful way, and correct way to come to God. God's Will can be found in His Word, God esteems His Word as final authority, and Honors His word. If you need healing, find the Healing scriptures. If God healed one, He will heal you. He has never changed and not a respecter of persons as some think. If you need money, find the places in scripture he supply's the needs of the people. If it's something not covered specific in the Word, there are plenty of scriptures that will help. Psalm 138:8 says he will perfect those things that concern you.
Never beg God or use any "If it be thy will" prayers, unless you need direction between two choices. In that case, ask for Wisdom on which is the best choice for you. Go to God with Confidence, knowing what he already said about something. Your petition will always be yes, and on the way, never late.

Faith starts were the will of God is known.
Psa 21:2 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

Get sin out of your life. Fix unrepentant sin.

Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Pro 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Sin in your life will destroy your confidence in God. Not only that, it will give Satanic force the right to stop and hinder the blessings of God in your life. (Eph 4:27)

1Jn 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Anything that is not of faith is sin, or if you know that your doing something wrong, but continue doing it, it will stop your ability to have a heart, that trust in God. Your heart will condemn you. When tragedy strikes, you don't want your heart in any position that will not have full confidence in God. Sin, will stop your heavenly Father from getting you what you need for victory.

I can't count the number of Christians that are willing to sacrifice Sex with someone they are not married to, for unhindered prayer. Let me tell you, Nothing is more important than having full confidence toward God, knowing what you ask is done. There is no amount of sex, or money than can beat that. Life is way to short to trade sin, for answered prayer. If your taking small things from work (I deserve this, and they won't miss it.) having sex with someone that is not a married partner, mistreatment of your family, anything!!! get it fixed and under the Blood. Once you repent (Turn away) it will be as if you never done these things. God is faithful to get rid of all that unrighteousness you built up, and make you right again. Right before Him, with no hindrance to prayer.

Not Walking in Love. God's Love.

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

There could be pages on this subject. Being fleshy and grumpy all the time, giving people short and rude answers, will stop your prayer life. Get that flesh under control, and if anyone has done you wrong, forgive them. It does not mean you place them back in a position of trust, they have to earn that, but it means you no longer treat them according to what they have done to you. You have forgiven them.

Don't fool yourself, without that divine love of God that was shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost, being the dominate controller of your life. (Rom 5:5) Your prayers will not work. Without Love, your faith will not operate for you.

1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Your great mountain moving faith, will not cover a corrupted Love walk. Your prayers of faith will sound like someone banging a bunch of cymbals. That is all the effective it will be. Just noise.

Jas 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

If your the type that says. "Nobody messes with me, Your gonna know where you stand in my eyes, I hold nothing back." then your a fool. It takes a greater person to Walk that Love walk. It don't matter how much someone just needs to hear it. If they don't leave your conversation better off than when you started, then you messed up. "Breaking it down." for someone and making them more indifferent and upset means they never got your message in the first place. I am not saying not to let people know they are annoying, but there is a way in love to get your message across, and not berate them. There is a difference in correcting someone in Love, than letting them have it full blast. Set all anger and malice aside, before talking to anyone. Your prayer life depends on it.

Believe that you already recieve

Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

You must believe that what you prayed for is already yours, and on the way. How do I know? The Lord Jesus said so. You can't violate this principle and expect your prayer to work. You hear lots of Christians say they Hope God does something. This is not believing you already have the answer.

Now how can you know that what you asked for is already yours and on the way? Simple, you prayed according to God's Will, you found your answer in something God already said. You can have confidence that What God said is true, and fully to expect God to perform his Word for you. Otherwise, we would have no right to believe something we can not yet see, feel, smell, or even taste.

You can always tell if your violating this principle. Someone that believes they have the answer, no longer has to pray about it again, they are also at peace, and not thinking about the problem anymore. They are full of Joy, knowing that what they prayed is taken care of. If you find yourself praying over again about the same thing, in fear or worry (Taking thought) about the problem. Not happy because you feel as if you don't have the solution yet (No Joy) then your not believing that you have received the answer and are in disobedience to what Jesus said. If that is the case, it's time to go back, get in the scriptures (Promises) and start thanking God his word is true. build yourself back up very quickly and keep those scriptures in front of you.

You have what you say, Don't Waver back and forth.

Mar 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Jas 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

When asking Something from God, you must be steadfast, you must believe that you have received, and the problem is fixed. Anything less than this will flatten your pray. How can you tell if your wavering or not? Simple, your mouth will give you away very quickly. For example, if you are believing God For healing, and you just got back from the doctor with a bad report, and tell your friend that you don't know if you will make it. That is called wavering. It is taking two positions on something.

If your believing God for your bills to be paid and you say something like, if it's not one bill it's another, we seem to never get caught up. Then you are taking two positions. One is God supplying all your needs and the other is never getting caught up. Your mouth will give you away every time. Don't even think you will receive anything from God.
When you catch your mouth in conflict for what you are believing God for, don't kid yourself. That thing came out of your mouth because that is what is in the abundance of your heart. That means there is something in your heart that is not believing God, and it needs to be rooted out. Take this very serious if you want your Prayers answered. There are times I am believing God for something, I have my scriptures, but find myself saying something that is against what I am believing. I know that somewhere my heart is not right. For example, I complained one time about new gas prices, and how they are all a bunch of crooks. The Lord checked me and told me that if I could not even have faith to buy gas, how was he able to get much else to me. It was poverty thinking, and complaining about prices is one way to stop the flow of God provisions.

So, check you mouth, it will tell you if your honestly going to get that prayer answered. We don't always have the faith to believe God for what we are asking anyway, but we can ask, and start building our faith for it in the Word. God is never limited to what he can Do, it's our ability to receive from him that always needs work.

Fight the Good fight of faith, Have patience

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Heb 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The flesh hates the word patience. We want things to show up, and show up NOW. Right there on a silver platter, served with desert. Let me tell you, things don't always work that way in the realm of the spirit, and God does not work that way. First, if you going to believe God big, then plan to stand in faith, and have patience. It's not God making you wait, He is just waiting on you and developing you so that your faith and position is big enough to receive that big thing your asking for. I mean if you ask God for a plane, and are willing to hold that faith position, God may have lots of work to get you to that place of owning a plane. After all, plans need hangers to be kept in, there is maintenance, and strict guide lines to follow. God knows if you don't have the funds to buy a plane, then you won't have the means to upkeep one. When God gives us things we believe him for, it's complete, and sustained.
Also keep in mind that God always uses the resources available on earth. That means God has to start working on your behalf with other people. Not everyone listens to God right away and does what he says. God gives others chances to sow into people's lives so that He can bless THEM more. God always has standby's so don't worry. As much as we would like God to twist some loved ones arm to get saved, that is not how God Works. He will work on them, and they will be saved, just be willing to allow God to work with that person, even if they do deserve their arm broke.

Mar 4:17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

You can also expect opposition from the Enemy. Remember Danial? The devil can't stop anything God is doing for you, unless you allow it. The devil can only manipulate physical circumstance so that it may seem that things are getting worse, and God's Word is not working. Doctor reports can get worse, More bills can come in. The Devil wants you to believe that God is not upholding his end, and the Word is not working. Don't be moved, and don't pay those physical things any mind. You keep right on believing. It's called fighting the good fight of faith. There may be a fight, so get ready for it, and expect it. Never, never, never give up or feel sorry for yourself, you will just loose. God's Word is truth and eternal, Choose to base what you believe on something solid like that. The word created all the physical matter you see around you, and the word is truth and has authority over the very thing it created. Have faith in the creator and not the created. Believe the word, not circumstances. Fight the good fight of faith.

It may look like your back is against the wall and you have done all you can, well, turn it over to Big brother (Jesus) because he is not limited to what he can do. We never have to admit defeat with Big Brother on our side. Never. If you have done what you know to do, then just stand...(Eph 6:13-14)

Abide in Jesus

Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

What does it mean to Abide in Jesus? It means that the Lord, and His Kingdom are first place in your life. That means we are not skipping church, and we are at the places we are suppose to be. That means God is first whenever we get money in our hand. Many violate this spiritual law, and wonder why their prayer life is not so great. Everything you get from God, has to Come though the Kingdom of God. That is Christ and the Church first, because that is What the Lord Jesus is putting first. His Church. That should also be first on the top of your list. If your Children are first or your bills are first, then God can't be first. Don't think asking what you will, will ever happen to you, if you let this area of your life slip. It also means that we are led by the Spirit of God, and not our job, not promotions, not a better house. We must be where we are suppose to be. Most Christians will move away, leaving their church just to take a job promotion, and never think what the Lord might have to say. This will only cause your prayer life to come to a halt. Your Job is always near the Church your suppose to be at, not the other way around. Abide in the Lord Jesus, put Him first in all things. It's the abundant life..........

Conclusion:

I did not cover Prayer of Agreement, binding, loosing or your right to have authority over Satan. In fact, it would be impossible to cover everything, and I don't even know enough to even attempt it. What I do hope this will help believers have a greater prayer life, and recognize the things that stop prayer.

1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Be Blessed..............

Brother , thankyou for that . The Lord bless you and keep you . That is Holy Spirit inspired and there is way too much to comment . But everything is truth and the truth will set people free if they only believe. We cannot half heartedly believe some of the promises with out all .

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7 :14

My prayer is that every member here read this thread and apply it to their lives .... including me . There are definately life changing thruths here and you took the time to put this all together and I appreciate what you have done . Praise God Brother and many blessings .

Thank you both. I suppose it's fine the way it is, even though we all think of a million more things we should have mentioned. The subject of prayer is to big however to even attempt to get it all down. We do have a better book on the subject that does cover everything, our Bible.

Be Blessed.

Yes so true . And if people would only dust it off and not use it ( THe Holy Bible) as an object to look at .... wow... what they could discover and find as God's Word comes alive and lives in us . We can tell them and tell them but unless and untill they experience all God's promises and claim them they will be missing the mark

The other person needs faith too... not just us.

Mar 6:5 And He could do no work of power there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick ones, He healed them.
Mar 6:6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. And He went around the villages, in a circuit, teaching.

The other person needs faith too... not just us.

Ya, those folks grew up with Jesus, and did not honor who he said he was. As far as they were concerned, Jesus grew up doing great as a carpenters boy, then lost him mind and went into Ministry. They were unable to receive from someone they did not honor.

It does take faith to lay hands on the sick. You must be fully convinced they will recover. When I lay hands on the sick, I think of that resurrection Power, and that Jesus bore our sickness and disease. I think of that persons right to be free from the curse of the Law, Jesus being made a curse for them. Most important, I keep in mind that I am not the healer, Just the mailman that delivers the message and not responsible in enforcing the contents of the letter. God also used a Donkey to save Balaam. It was a talking donkey, so that donkey also had to have some faith.

I does take faith to step out in a church full of people and lay hands on the sick. It also takes faith to receive that healing. People also have to recieve the Message preached or it does them no good.

Many in the Church world interpret those scriptures different. (Mark 6:5-6) the say Jesus could have healed them anyway, but did not because they did not honor him. It had nothing to do with what they believed. There is a very large portion of the Body of Christ (Majority) That down play believing God, they don't want to be responsible for what happens to them. God does what he does, and that is just how it is. God is mysterious and His ways are past finding out. In fact, to tell someone they lack faith in receiving from God, though they continue to confess sickness and defeat in their life is considered evil by many organizations. After all, if God wants you sick, who is to Tell God different.

Be blessed.

Here is one of the biggest hinderances to prayer that some don't realize , and many others want to conveniently overlook because they will not do it. You mentioned Mark 11 :23 - 24, but don't stop reading, look at the next verses. This can asnwer the question why so many prayers are not answered.

Mark 11:24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25And
when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

When we hold things against someone and refuse to forgive, God cannot answer our prayer until we do.

GodSpeaks: Yes, the whole condition is Forgive!!! without it, the have what you say, and believe that you receive is not working for you. Paul said if I have not love, then my faith is not moving mountains. I suppose if I write a book on this subject, I'll have to go over the Love thing covering several chapters. I also keep track on how you word things, and might use your stuff latter...... If you don't mind.

There are many Churches that are full of unforgiveness.

I try to avoid judging other Churches, but if there are problems in a Church and devoid of Power, then they need to start with the Unforgiveness (Love) and look there first. Sadly, you Statement is so very true.

I don't look at it as judging, just observation. I think pride is one of the biggest problems. Not just in Churches, but in people too. Pride covers up many other things and doesn't allow us to see our other shortcomings.

Sad to say, that's another one

I've said, for example, " I once heard a preacher say ________, " or " I've heard it put this way: ______ ".
So you could do that, if it helps to express the thought and give better understanding of something we discuss.

I try to avoid judging other Churches

That's good, because too many now adays judge churches and most mininsters. I hate that sort of thing.
.

That's good, because too many now adays judge churches and most mininsters. I hate that sort of thing.

Dito .... But unfortunately that is the society we are living in and I have even heard people in my church critisize the Pastor or other things in the church and I do not get involved in that and respond to them by saying ." we need to pray for them , not tear them down " That bugs me so much and like Dean said " Pride " is a big a big issue cause people seem to be jealous of others instead of looking at themselves and asking what they can do for the Lord.

I didn't read the whole post. I just do not have time.
But God - he ALWAYS answers prayers. I believe He only answers Christian's prayers though. (John 15:7). But this is just me. And I don't want this whole comment to turn into a wild discussion. I really don't.

Anyways, God has always answered my prayers. But the way he answers them, it's not always YES. It can be Yes, No, or Later.

Examples:
I believe I will meet a guy, fall in love, and be married. And I believe God's answer was LATER. Not right at the moment.
I have prayed for certain things to work out, and God said YES and made it happen.
I was involved with a guy...sorta...and we were going on a few dates. When I prayed to God about it and asked Him if this isn't want He wants to be, then end it right now. The day AFTER (literally), the guy stopped talking to me. And it ended. So that answer was NO.

Why is a young girl that servers God, and suppose to be concentrating on School, is concerned with "GUYS" at this point........... establish yourself in the plan of God, get your Schooling done, then God sends the right one, fully anointed, full of faith, to be a help meet for your calling...... Guys should be off the menu for you......... Get established, find the plan, the guy that fits the plan is sent by God.

Be Blessed.

Wow, someone doesn't even know me :p
I don't think i mentioned that i was focused on guys.
this was in the past. but okay.

You did say Latter and not at the moment................ I did read that........... But you still mentioned that word "Guy" and just needed to make sure you understood...... I have seen way to much mess in young girls lives, Mess that did not need to be there. So, if you got it......then stay with it. I only want you to have victory!!!

Be Blessed.
