Did He speak to me?

I recently have been having some issues with the Holy Spirit and talking to God concepts. I asked God to show me whether it is time to take the relationship to that level, so I can stop being so stressed about it.

My dad was playing a song in the car today, while we were coming home from Kohl's. He played multiple songs, but I usually drowned them out with my thinking. But this song caught my attention. It basically said, "This is more than you can handle right now, but don't give up". I thought that God was speaking to me. I hope He was, because now I can stop worrying. What do you guys think?

God calls us to peace in every circumstances, have the trust of a little child. I do believe God was speaking to you, he speaks to everyone but not everyone listens.

Let me ask you a question...........When you heard these words, did they pull your attention from what you were doing directly to them ? Did you deep inside feel as if God was saying this to you ? Well brother that is something you are going to have to figure out on your own. NO ONE ELSE can do that for you. My guess would be YES.......He did it like that for me once.

Yeah, I was just thinking to myself and then the words from this song just suddenly took my attention, and I related those words to my situation almost instantly. I have already thanked God for His message to me; I truly believe it was Him.

I was praying and talking to the Lord today, and as i thought about a few little things that i missed as God giving me instructions...i thought of you, and your questions about how to hear God, and how does He speak. So my question is this, have you ever had a thought that you did not act upon? Ie..put my bike in the garage, so it does not get wet by the rain. And then it rained, and you had to go out and put your bike in the garage. This has been happening to me. I was praying and talking to the Lord today, and as i thought about a few little things that i missed as God giving me instructions...i thought of you, and your questions about how to hear God, and how does He speak. So my question is this, have you ever had a thought that you did not act upon? Ie..put my bike in the garage, so it does not get wet by the rain. It may not be an audible voice, but these are the times when God is speaking and directing us. Training us to hear and obey. In the future it will be bigger things. It's good that you listen!

No "buts"! God has spoken to me audibly. He can and does do this.

However, He speaks mainly through His word (as well as His people). So, commit your way to Him in reading His word and determine within your self to hear Him, and when a verse or passage pops out at you, then be assured, that is God speaking. Stop and take advantage of that, and meditate on that passage, and wait for His Spirit to teach you and minister to your heart right then and there.

Juk, Everything you are experiencing right now concerning God, and his Kingdom is based only on what you know about God's Word and what you confess out of your mouth, and believe. You can not experience anything beyond your faith. Your faith has set the boundaries of your fellowship with the Lord. If you know little and only believe a little, than that is how you will experience fellowship with God. I encourage you find all the scriptures that deal with having fellowship with God and start confessing them as yours.

"My sheep know my voice, and they follow me, the voice of a stranger I will not follow"

1Co 2:11.. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
1Co 2:12.. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.

You should confess these things out of your mouth every day!! You know the voice of Jesus and you will follow him. You have the Spirit of God, which are the thoughts of God, and you know his thoughts. I believe I have the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ is in me, and I am filled with the thoughts of God. I only follow the Lord in everything. The voice of a stranger I will not follow.

Fellowship with God is as natural as breathing air. You don't ever think about about, it is just a way of life. Every thought you have is God's thoughts, every word you speak is God speaking through you!!! People will recognize it, and so will you. Everything about God, his Kingdom, and having fellowship with him is only by faith!!
These things do not happen automatically, you have to find these things out in the Bible, confess them and believe them as absolute truth to you. This does not happen overnight, it takes time for their reality to happen. God gave you these things, they are hidden from, but hidden for you to find, and enjoy.

Something that God reminded me of was that He was the one that put you on my mind last night, because He wanted you to know that it is He who puts the thoughts in your mind, about different things that need to be done and He is training you to hear His voice.

Like you I have not ever heard an audible voice. But my dad did once. Mostly what i hear is promptings, and He will bring thoughts of how to pray for someone, of what verse to use, and He also speaks to me through His Word. I'll be reading something and it will just stand out, much like the verse in the song to you. That lets me know that He wants my attention to that verse, and then He gives me the understanding of why.

In fact today, a verse popped out to me as to what He is doing in my life right now. Maybe it will minister to you as well. Romans 12:2 "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way that you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."

I have read this verse many times, but today it seemed that God has a reason why it stood out more than normal. As i meditate on God's Word more and more, He is changing the way that i think, so that i can know His will and His ways (how He does things) better, and really get to know, and trust Him even more than i have been learning to over the past few years. He is using the truth of His Word to make me like ps 1:2-3, a tree planted along the riverbank, that bears fruit each season, my leaves will never wither, and i'll prosper in all that i do, and all this happens because i delight in the law of the Lord (or the Word of God), meditating in it day and night.

God Bless you juk! Keep meditating and seeking and knocking, and the door will be opened to you! (Matthew 7:7-8)

And as Romans 10:8-10 says...The Word is very nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart; that is the word of faith that we preach. And Romans 10:17 faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Thank you "Cturtle" there is no doubt that the Word is nigh us, in our mouth, and in our heart, and then out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. It's like a "circle" that starts in our mouth, then the heart, and then right back into our mouth. It is when we speak it from the "heart" that there is "power" in our words.

Thank you! Yesterday, I read Matthew 28:20 and it made me tear. It really spoke to me.
