The Inspire Bible

Is it like one if thise illuminated bibles they had in the middle ages, can you gild the edges of the pages?

We could just make our own copies by copying the Bible by hand word for word I reckon (except those versions that say they are copyright) and then we would have our own handwritten bible. Of course it may take a lifetime but maybe just do a chapter a day.

It's just a new living translation Bible with pictures to color and lines in it for taking notes.

I like your idea about hand copying the Bible. I started doing that with a particular version because i wanted to read it on paper. I stopped shortly before God made it possible to purchase one. I like your idea about one chapter a day... makes it seem less overwhelming :)

If you copied a chapter a day how many years/months would it take you do complete one bible. Anyone good at maths?

That's a good question... according to wiki.. there are 1189 chapters in the Bible 929 in the old and 260 in the new. Dividing that by 365... gives us a little over 3 years. If someone wanted to spend say only a year... they would have to copy 3 - 4 chapters a day :)

I joined this online conference thats all about bible journalling but have yet to sit down and watch all the vids.

The only thing is it seems only women are doing it. Dont men do bible journalling too? Its kind of overwhelming cos its like the scrapbooking thing that some women seemed to get into but buying all the arts and crafts stuff to do it (and its not cheap) seemed to me to defeat the purpose. If you are making things from SCRAPS, wouldnt you just be using what you already have?

Anyway the thing is I just have old bibles and they dont have much room for writing in, I never write in mine. I have a separate notebook for writing notes and prayer journal and its not a pretty one. I think though if you doing this for your children to read you would make the effort but am such a messy person when Im being creative that I just dont really do it anymore, my family dont understand my creativity they would rather if I was to express it to do it elsewhere.

I remember wanting to do some painting, and dad got mad if I accudentally dropped any paint on the floor. If I wanted to bake a loaf of bread, mum got annoyed if I used the kitchen, so I just dont do it.
