Has Jesus Christ Paid For Sin?

Hello you,

Here is few interesting questions for you.

Did Jesus Christ pay for all sin of the whole world?

If Jesus Christ did pay for all of the sin of the whole world, is God still angry at sin?

Did Jesus Christ receive the wrath of God? If the answer is no.

Was the wrath of God poured out on the nation of Israel?

Do you remember when Jesus Christ said to his disciples that this generation shall not pass away until everything he had spoken about comes to pass?

Thoughts, questions?

God bless and take care!

If this was placed in the wrong forum will you please take a moment and move it to the correct forum, my apologizes, have a great day!

Good morning, MatthewG, great to see you!
I will pray about my response and be back later.
If you receive thoughtful answers they may be
quite lengthy for these questions.

I will take one of the answers as displayed in Scripture.
God never stopped loving Israel, He expanded His plan
to include us. It is like having two children after having
only one rebellious one for so long. He added us and
subtracted no one. Replacement Theology leads to a
serious fallacy of Scripture. God was and is angry at their
rebellion but the whole point of the Tribulation period is
to open the eyes of Israel once more. It will take getting
them alone and scared in Petra to make that happen though.

I will testify that Jesus is the Son of God and a person of the Godhead Trinity.
I have put my faith, hope, and trust in Him and there is no other god but God.
I confessed my faith in Him many years ago and have since assured myself of
my total reliance in Him and the complete work Jesus completed at the cross.

Did Jesus Christ pay for all sin of the whole world?
He paid the penalty for sin. His payment covers all who choose to receive it. There is not an end to that payment. Individually we must still receive that payment by acknowledging our inability to do so ourselves and accepting His payment and re-enter the fellowship that Man broke.

If Jesus Christ did pay for all of the sin of the whole world, is God still angry at sin?
Sin still separates man from God. It grieves God. Even in the believer that has accepted the payment still sins, tough a growing Christian will see that lessen as he learns trust. Christ paid the penalty for our sin, He did NOT purchase license for our sin.

Did Jesus Christ receive the wrath of God? If the answer is no.
God figuratively turned His back on Christ at the crucifixion, meaning that He declined to have the cup pass away from Jesus. As with the analogy of the father and child, above, what seems to be on our side may not be the what is from God's perspective.

Was the wrath of God poured out on the nation of Israel?
Many times God withdraws the protection around His people (including us) so that we may learn and experience what living without Him entails.
A good father will at times reprove his children. The interaction may be harsh and to the child it may seem that the father is mad. If the father is a good father, his punishment will not be guided by his anger but an attempt to impress on the child whom he loves proper behavior.

Do you remember when Jesus Christ said to his disciples that this generation shall not pass away until everything he had spoken about comes to pass?
All history revolves around the fall of Man when he chose to follow his own way, and the restoration of men at the Cross. Jesus was referring to His own crucifixion and resurrection.

Not the sins just for the Jewish world. But beginning with Abel a prophet, the first recorded apostle sent and first recorded martyr. a member of the bride the church .

This was even before he developed the use of the word Jew. Abram meaning father of one family made up of two nations or families coming for the Amorites and Hittites it was changed to Abraham “the father of many or all nations” to be used in ceremonies that preached the gospel to the whole world.

He then named those born again using the second born Jacob. . to Israel. Informing us not all Israel is born again some remained outward Jews unconverted.

In Isaiah 62 he promised to name the bride a more befitting name to represent all the nations. Confirming the gentiles “have seen the light of the gospel” named her “Christian” in Acts 11. Christian a word with no other meaning added means.as a “demonym.” . . Residents or the city of Christ .Named after her husband, Christ. The one founder of the eternal city. Demonym . . . a noun used to denote the natives or inhabitants of a particular country, state, city, are used that way throughout the bible.” Christian the nations of all nations the untied nation

Some outward unconverted Jew tried to pass off as born again Israel under the new name (Christian) but found out salvation is not according to the flesh or any man as if we did wrestle against the corrupted temporal things seen, flesh and blood.

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Good questions. Lets see what we can do with them.

1.
YES.

2.
YES, God does get angry. As God cannot sin, we know that His anger is righteous, unlike the common experience of anger in ourselves. As James 1:20 says, “Human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”

3.
YES. He was an object of wrath. But not just of Roman and Jewish wrath; in fact, not mainly of Roman and Jewish wrath (John 19:11). Jesus was primarily the object of his Father’s wrath — the most just, righteous, and terrible wrath there is. And he became that object willingly, even when his every human impulse longed for escape (Mark 14:36). It’s the very reason he came.

4.
I am not old enough to remember that....but I have read that He said exactly that.

You stated........"'this generation will not pass'?"

Jesus said in Matthew 24:34........
“Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.”

The things that Jesus had been speaking of—the rise of the Antichrist, the desolation of the Holy Place, and the darkening of the sun—did not happen during the lifespan of people alive in Jesus’ day. Obviously, Jesus meant something different when He spoke of “this generation.”

The key to understanding what Jesus meant by “this generation will not pass away until all these things take place” is the context; that is, we must understand the verses that are surrounding the text with the proper CONTEXT, especially the verses prior to it. In Matthew 24:3-31 Jesus is clearly giving a prophecy; He is speaking of future events. Jesus had already told those living during His earthly ministry that the kingdom had been taken from them in Matthew 21:43. Therefore, it is imperative that Matthew 24:-25 be seen as dealing with a future time.

The generation that Jesus speaks of “not passing” until He returns is a future generation, namely, the people living when the predicted events occur. The word generation refers to the people alive in the future when the events of Matt. 24-25 take place.

As of TODAY, the A/C has yet to be revealed, the A/C has not stood in the Temple, the Temple has not in fact been re-built, and the Sun has not been darkened. So we can say with total assurance that those events are still in our FUTURE!

Now just as a side note to help understanding, none of those could have happened until May 14, 1948. That is the day that the U.N. voted to place the Jews back into the land, and changed the name from Palestine to ISRAEL. IMHO.....that is the one event which has started God's countdown to the 2nd Coming of Christ.

All history revolves around the fall of Man when he chose to follow his own way, and the restoration of men at the Cross. Jesus was referring to His own crucifixion and resurrection.

Yes the generation of Christ typified by the crucifixion and resurrection. The born again generation as sons of God. Not the evil generation. They have no faith coming from our unseen God so they rather seek after sign to wonder by. .no sign is given .

The generation of Adam born dead in their trespass and sin . The divison between the two generations will end on the last day under the Sun "the evil generation"

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Huh. Okay. Thank you each for your responses.

You all pose many different beliefs, and also information that you shared, thank you for this information.

If it would be okay with you, would like to share continue to share my belief.

For me, Jesus Christ did pay the all the sin of the world. That means everyone who has yet to believe, has had their sins paid for.

God showed his love by sending Christ to die while we were yet still sinners.

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also
for the sins of the whole world.

Sin has been paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ thus God is no longer angry at sin because Jesus Christ paid for everyone and their sin. Past, Present, and Future sins. All paid for.

Now the other question about wrath, well believe that it talks about wrath in Revelation and it was to be poured out on the nation of Israel, though could be wrong about this.

Considering all sins are paid in full for everyone by the blood shed on the Cross, by the Lord Jesus Christ.

My only question now is since everyone has been saved from their sins.

Are people now given the chance to be saved to the kingdom of heaven
when they repent and turn towards God after receiving such wonderful
news that their sins have already been forgiven?

Will this leave the possibility open for God to come in their life when they turn
toward him instead, and God
work it out in their hearts as they go about life in their confessed now belief in God?

Maybe even read scripture and grow in the spirit,
as the flesh slowly simmers down?

Hebrews 10:15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First He says: 16“This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds.” 17Then He adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

Yes agreed very much so. This is exactly what is mentioned in the above post: How God will deal with his children, that when they do something that does upset him, they themselves will know it.

Sure everyone of us here has experienced those times where God pretty much said hey son you know that is not right to do, and that guilt and shame of what is wrong has to be reconciled somehow for us to be set free again.

It requires us going to God, and telling him about whatever it is we shouldn't have done and help us to reconcile whatever it may be. Oh how loving our Father in heaven is. He leads by the spirit, and we understand when know that even condemnation comes upon us as believers when we mess up.

That normally tends to be when we are not being loving towards God, or loving towards others.

Yes, His condemnation continues to hang over the heads of those who reject His Son's sacrifice for the sins of the world. (They have not taken their refuge in Him).

Jesus did not die on the sread of every loss sinner, but his death was on behalf of all who were to get saved by the Grace of God!

I am pretty sure I know where this is going and
it's better we leave this right where it lies as we could break
the rules of this forum in about two posts.

John 3:16 (NASB) says, though, "“For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only Son, so that
everyone who believes
in Him will not perish, but have eternal life."

There are more indications that grace is for anyone who
believes than there are that God selected a few of His creation
to accept His Son. In science, if a theory cannot be proven then
it is rejected or remains a theory. The thinking of the one you
seemingly align with takes a verse or two and built a whole
theory which cannot be proven and is outright refuted by John 3:16
alone.

Just stating that both are true, as God will apply the saving grace towards just those who receive Jesus as their Lord and savior! We can all agree to disagree on how they receive Jesus and why, but we can all agree benefits only the redeemed of the Lord!

It is YOUR thread! Please share your thoughts.

I agree with your thesis.

John 1:29 says that ........
"Jesus is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. "

And John 3:16 declares that.....
“God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Sometimes, we as humans tend to overthink the obvious. I learned a long time ago to READ the Scriptures and BELIEVE what they say.

Just stating that both are true, as God will apply the saving grace towards just those who receive Jesus as their Lord and savior! We can all agree to disagree on how they receive Jesus and why, but we can all agree benefits only the redeemed of the Lord!
I understand what you are saying. The word WORLD in 1 John and in the gospel of John is the key to this. Does the word WORLD refer to everyone without distinction or to everyone without exception? There is a difference and that difference is the subject our rules do allow us to discuss.

Everyone without distinction would mean that Jesus died for all kinds of people from every tongue, tribe, people, and nation. Everyone without exception would mean that he died for every single individual person without any exception. This latter view asserts that even those who die rejecting Jesus can say that Jesus’s blood was for them because those for whom Jesus died may or may not have faith in him.

I wish the rules allowed us to talk about this, as this would be the case of this thread. However.....I promise you that it would not stay civil and there would be confrontations.

I will leave it with a very country boy attempt to explain this.

Jesus Christ paid for the sins of the ENTIRE world on the cross of calvery. However, every single person in the ENTIRE world must by "Faith" believe that Jesus Christ did exactly that. THEY......Entire world may have their sins paid for by Christ......but they must ASK FOR THAT PAYMENT TO BE APPLIED TO THEIR SINS.

Romans 10:9-11.........
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

BOTH Calvinists as myself and my non cal bethren affirm what you wrote here, as only the redeemed are benefited by the Cross of Christ!
