loved visiting this ancient city.

Walking up the Acropolis to the Parthenon with spectacular views of the city and mountains and learning all about what the patheneon was used for throughout the ages was my favourite part.

every time a new cult was created, they made room in the parthenon for it...
even if it meant squeezing more than one in a room at a time!

they loved their pagan gods from everywhere.

Hello Via;

It must have been quite the experience to stand next to these old temples. Imagine how many people have stood, lived and walked amongst them all these centuries? That would have gone through my head if I had the opportunity to visit Athens.

Thank you for sharing these photos. While there did you eat Greek food, and did you like it?

I see some cranes and scaffolding in the background. Are they restoring or?

I wonder if they managed to squeeze in that 'Christ cult'?
well, it was transformed in to a church for a while( of the Virgin Mary)

also, the cranes that where there were restoring and healing the parthenon due to corrosion and the expansion of iron reinforcements by the last restorer. also, they are have 5 million euros to do this, for 2 years, and they intend to reposition the roof beams.
