Journal The Cabin

In the be ninnning.... HAHAHAHAHAHA...
:) I was going to say that he was giving the Gettysburg Address in a different language, but I figured the humor may be lost, as non-Americans may not know that speech by our President Lincoln.

I wonder if the guy ever finished reading Genesis 1:1?

FYI, Jesus was a bad gardener.

Matthew 19

19 And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.

:)
I misspoke. Jesus was a great gardener, gave a lot of advice on pruning, and really liked mustard seeds.

Well.... I'm supposed to be on a break.... however.... I received several notifications of a STOMPING MOOSE in the woods close to the cabin.... and so I have returned from my little break early.

1747925601063.png There have been several of these signs found on and around the property of the cabin... with several recipe books on GRILLING ( found close to the shed ).
This is a friendly "remindeer" that we do not eat family members here at the CABIN. Thank you for your cooperation.

Well... I'm going to GROOVE things up a bit. In all reality.... this is one of my FAVOURITE pictures. So funny that we have a joke about "being possessed by an owl" ( which will remain one of the funniest SKITS I have ever seen unto ETERNITY )... I wrote an entire story to my daughter on the basis of this picture.... and so I am bringing it to the forefront.... BECAUSE.... this was me.... YESTERDAY.

I had an optometrist appointment... Every three years I go... because every three years... Disability pays for a new set of glasses.

Sadly... the last pair of glasses I purchased three years ago were NOT set to the proper prescription. ( I guess that is what happens when one decides to go to one of those walk-in eye glass stores in the Mall )... but anyways... and so.... I ended up wearing the same pair of glasses for 6 years... instead of 3.

Yesterday... I had an appointment with a REAL optometrist... who decided he would like to put drops in my eyes to expand the size of my pupils.... so that he could do some kind of test. NO big deal... I sat patiently for 15 minutes.... and then.... the NEWS..... I have cataracts. OH JOY... OH BLISS... Coke bottle glasses... HERE we come.

I asked the Optometrist if I would be able to walk home safely after these drops and he stated it should be NO problem... however... and OH my goodness... WHEN I left the office and stepped outside into the light of day... I could barely keep my eyes open. The light was too much to take.... and so here I am ... trying to fumble my way up the street to the bus stop. It was rather comical and scary... at the same time. I managed to waddle home to a nice dark apartment. He might have assumed that I had sunglasses. THAT would have helped immensely.

So..... new glasses are coming... ALL is well.

Garden update...

Been a rough week for my beloved little green friends. WE were hit with a very cold spell which included a 72 hour frost warning... and YEP... all my plants were already in pots... so... for the last few days... I have been like a mother hen brooding over her chicks. I did receive some frost damage... but I am hoping that it was minimal enough that the plants that were affected will still continue to grow.

I cut off the leaves that were frost bitten... and to my delight... it seems like only two or three got damaged.
I have just now have re-covered all my pots due to another few nights of risky weather.... JUST IN CASE.

SILLY... SILLY... SILLY to NOT pay HEED to the warnings of NOT planting till the first week of JUNE.

This has been a very strange year... the cold just does NOT want to let up... however... my plants have all been outside for over a week now... so they are hardened... They now just need WARMTH so they can begin to grow.
