Espresso / Coffee

Herbal teas for me, or lemon and ginger.
Coffee plants dont do so well here, its not hot enough. They will grow leaves but not fruit. Unless you put them in a greenhouse.

I reckon everyone ought to try growing their own tea. If you want the tradtional dried tea you need to be growing camellia sinesis, not the other kind of camellia known for its flowers, because their leaves dont taste very nice!
Lemon and ginger tea are my favorite

Does it change the flavor... a regular coffee cup?
Yes. I'd have tea and home and enjoy it. But I'd go to work and use a coffee cup and it wouldn't taste the same. Ceramic is very porous so impurities affect the flavor. Porcelain isn't porous so all you taste is tea. This is why there are so many varieties of tea compared to coffee. Rarely is real tea have flavorings added.

I'm learning something new here. Praise the Lord!

Question. I was told that tea is good for digesting after a meal. Is this true?

Question. I never thought whether ceramic or porcelain makes a difference in the taste of tea. I always thought a cup is a cup is a cup.

For example, I'm drinking a Starbucks tall mug with Honey Lemon Ginseng Green Tea. I believe it's ceramic. How does one know the difference between that and porcelain?

The tea tastes great at this writing.

God bless you all!

Bob,
I don't know of any scientific studies about tea, but I know for myself, when I have an upset stomach ginger tea helps. Camomile tea is great before bed, Irish Black tea is my wake-up drink. I love the Chai Ultra Spice in the afternoon to chill out after lunch - once and awhile. I usually only have two cups of tea a day.

CORRECTION: While I was correct about the porcelain over ceramic, my wife corrected me to say it's Bone China that's best for tea, which is what our tea cups are.

Honestly, I don't know the difference, but it does make a difference for me, as I have a hyper sense of smell which gives me a hyper sense of taste. All I can say is buy one and try it out and let us know. :) They are pricey. Here's one I just bought:

Hello Abdicate;

Thanks for sharing. It is a nice cup @ $40.00. I don't like cheap cups (chip and wear) so the investment would be worth it.

I do enjoy 2 cups of coffee in the morning, but by afternoon and evening started drinking more tea in the last 10 years.

For years we kept "Sir" Lipton Tea in our house which I believe the original is a black tea, or pekoe, but never gave it much thought then.

Today we drink specific teas like green, ginger and honey lemon teas, and just recently we purchased Nettle Leaf herbal tea.

God bless you, Abdicate, and your family.

Ho ho this has turned into a tea thread after all...

Yes well coffee is drunk from mugs. Tea from cups.
These days when you go to buy a cup, its usually a mug. The differnce is witn tea you make it with a teapot and you have a cup and saucer. The saucer is to put your cup on in case you spill any on your immaculate white table cloth, and also so you dont put crumbs on it when you have your biscuit or scone. You can also balance your teaspoon on it and put your tea bag or strainer there.
