Evangelize Your World

In this thread I thought it would be rewarding to us all if we simply shared the different ways we evangelize our area of this world.

Break Down....
To list and share All the Ways we allow others to see the Love of God through us.

This is not a thread on the integrity of Evangelist.

You know, when I get to work every morning, I listen to my devotional and play my gospel music at my desk. When people would come to talk to me, I always get God in the conversation. I often cook and take food and feed the people in my office and I plan potlucks. I have a hot dog machine and I took it to work and we had a hot dog day. It was so fun. Well, one morning I get to work and as usual listening to my devotional. We have a older lady that works with us. She came up to me and asked me to come to the closet with her. I thought she wanted to show me something. When we got in there, she asked me to pray for her. She said she had been watching me and how I listen to my devotionals, and how I lift people up. She said I don't want to go into specifics but will you just pray for me. I held her hand and began to pray.

I say all of that to say, people watch you and you don't even realize. If you are a child of God that light will shine through your life. How you treat people, people you help along the way. The person with a cold that may need a cough drop and you give them a some. Someone's birthday and you surprise them and bake a home-made cake or even buy one. It's the thought. Someone you see who is down and you just give them a hug. How we live our lives matter. And praying for people whether they know about it or not. Praying.

This is a good thread!!!! Thanks for starting it.

Edit Add In....
I tried this in another thread and members just wanted to argue about evangelist and so forth. Just simply sad.

First, a few guidelines for living in an evangelistic manner:

> Be confident of your relationship with God. Know what the Lord has done for you.
-- Its hard to pass on what you do not understand.

> Be of good reputation, let unknown others see you make decisions that reflect your faith in the Lord.
-- Its hard to be a good witness if you do wrong to others.

> Let others know that you serve the Lord.
-- Being a good person will not bring anyone closer to the Lord unless they can see you as an example.

> Prayerfully serve the needs of others.
-- Have a strong prayer life fill your being with the Spirit.

> Let the things of the Lord be gently on your lips.
-- Part of letting others know that you serve the Lord, but specifically targeted to letting others see you view the world through Him.

> Follow the leading of the Spirit. Remember it is their needs, not yours that should be in your prayers about those you meet.

Occasionally these seemingly ad-hoc conversations have blossomed into opportunities for a fuller discussion, presenting the need for Christ, and how to make Him part of their lives.

It is good to be able to recommend a variety of learning opportunities: Church, Sunday School, Prayer meetings, Bible Studies.

-----

More specifically for myself and at present: Most often, my opportunities for witnessing for the Lord have been related to community service (area food bank, Ostomy Support} where I have been involved. In the past month, I have moved from my former home, and the service activities based there

I am looking forward to finding new areas of service in His name where-ever I end up.

Remember, Evangelizing the whole world is His task. For most of us, as members of His family, is to work with those around us.

We can only change the world by helping Him change individual Hearts one by one.

Of course and agree:)

My example is from work and they all know that I am a child of God. When a person knows that you are a child of God and the light does shine, it draws people to you and it can push people away. I thank God that He continues to use me.

Thank you Jim.
Amen! We must live in such a way that they WANT what we have.
I have seen where an unsaved person gets around a bunch of Christians and compares all their arguing and turn or burn junk to their lives and they see their problems as nothing compared to those who are claiming to be His. Who would want to trade into that?

Something that the Father has made PERFECTLY CLEAR to me and I admit I am still learning this as well. I am much better at it then I ever have been but SOMETIMES I have to run Right into His Grace.

I am talking about how people treat us.
It's NOT our Concern how others Treat us BUT it is Vitaly Important how we treat others.
I got it like this....
It's none of my BUSINESS how some one treats me but it is my Business in how I treat them.

You would be amazed at how Simply Giving a little more Love towards those who are hardest to deal with - will change their lives.
It baffles their mind in how you can be so nice when they have been so mean.
FORGIVENESS IS KEY.
It works in us when we do and it presents a platform in which God can now work.

REMEMBER......you may simply have been placed right there because there is No One else who will Pray and show God's Love.

Treat others as Jesus treats us. There is a good principle that many christians quote and that is WWJD? What would Jesus do?

By being salty (salt and light) we can. Salt acts as a preservative and brings out the flavour of food. Its also a cleansing agent. And light shines in the darkness.

I think in my part of the world is praying for others. I remember this was how I came to know God when a christian workmate prayed for me when I was going through a hard time. She didnt solve my problem she leant on God to answer that prayer...she was an intercessor. I had never been prayed for before that point. It was the kindest thing anyone had ever done for me, even more than giving me chocolate when I was feeling down. She did testify about Jesus but it wasnt so much that is that she took my hand and prayed.

God then showed me He cared for me.

I've since then had the opportunity to pray for others and seen God work in their lives. People that had never gone to church, children that were sceptical about God, agnostics that were indifferent and athiests that were adamant God couldnt exist. Thats the power of prayer.

Remember that Loves Conquers hate

For me...
Prayer for others (and myself in relation to them).
Simple courtesy and consideration of others.
Talk about the things of God and the things of the world as they relate to God whenever the opportunity comes up.
Fessing up (When you screw up, admit it, fix it, ask for forgiveness as needed and move on).
Most importantly...Prayer for others (and myself in relation to them).

One way I like to show the Kingdom of God through me, is by following the example that Jesus gave in Matthew 10. This is when He sent His disciples out 2by2 to share the gospel message to the nearby cities. He instructed them to not bring with them a money bag, two coats or sandals, etc., for their journey. He then gave them power to share the gospel message in full heavenly power like Jesus.

I, also, would go out with another brother (maybe 2) and not accept any money or bring any money with me. I may take a bible and my toothbrush, but besides that, I go out and look for ways to spread God's kingdom of love for a couple of days, not knowing where we will sleep or what we will eat. One way we tried to get the message out during these times was by making signs on the street that read "God or money". What we wanted to do was get people to think about the question: If they could only choose one out of these two options, which will they choose? Many would stop and talk to us and ask what we were doing. I would share with them what I wrote above, and they would be encouraged by the faith that my brother(s) and I put in God. That in of itself was a great witness.

Out of the 3 times I did this, I always was well fed and had a place to sleep (minus one time when we built a couch fort and slept there, or when we slept behind a Wal-mart with only a thin plastic sheet to keep us warm.) The times we had to hack it outside, were actually the times we felt the most closest to God, and to one another, compared to the times we were invited to stay at someones house or in a hotel room.

There are a lot of interesting things that happen when you step out in faith like this, so I have many stories, but that's for another time.

In peace
