Does anyone use Grubhub?

On Wednesday this week I planned to take my wife Hazel out for a quiet Valentine's Day dinner. There is a great Italian restaurant that came to mind.

Then we both came up with the idea to use Grubhub (no delivery charges) on my Amazon Prime account. We never used them before but decided to give it a shot. When we opened the app there was a huge list of food to choose from. We decided what to order and within 30 to 40 minutes our food was delivered.

We enjoyed a nice, quiet hot dinner in our home with good conversation this Friday late afternoon.

If anyone has used Grubhub I have to say I was impressed using them for the first time which made for a comfortable dinner date at home.

Ive never used Grubhub for delivery, only for placing and picking up an order. I think they add a surcharge for using the app.

Hello cocoa;

Surprisingly the service is all free as long as I maintain my Amazon Prime account. The only thing we paid for was the food and an optional tip. Otherwise we would not have signed up.

I'm a technology luddite. This constant stream of new apps that simply reinvent the wheel over and over again exhaust me.

Last week I called the restaurant directly, ordered my food, drove there myself and picked it up.

Hello LearningToLetGo;

We still enjoying dining in a restaurant. This Grubhub was something new for us and it so happened to be a good first time experience.

God bless
you, brother.

Dining out at restaurants is great experience, but in this post-Covid era, I learned that reducing restaurant visits is very beneficial for us.

I have used DoorDash with mixed results. Never tried GrubHub. It is nice to have your food delivered to your door and not have to go out at all. Still, I do like to go out to a restaurant and dine in. What did you and Hazel have?

Good morning, Matiro and Dave F.;

During COVID we didn't go out to restaurants. We enjoy dining out again but had to reduce the visits because it's gotten very expensive and certain restrictions.

Example of restrictions,
we have a shortage of eggs. We went out for breakfast and they only cooked me 1 egg (over medium) though my order was for the whole breakfast. I brought this to the waitress' attention and she apologized. The menus were not updated to reflect that. I could have made a stink to the manager but I came to my senses, understood and let it go. (I still wanted two eggs!) lol!

Dave,
we ordered deluxe Chicken sandwiches with sides. It was quite delicious. We knew the restaurants would be over booked and cost way more, so we enjoyed a quiet meal in our home and kept it simple.

It's ironic. We have a shortage of eggs because of a reduced population of chickens yet we ordered chicken sandwiches. lol!

Bob, you rescued those chickens from the bird flu! LOL! The chicken population was much higher at that time. On a more serious note... sometimes it is really nice to stay at home and enjoy each others company without any outside distractions. Glad you had a wonderful night together.
