I haven't read it but apparently the Talmud has Jacob dying first and Esau dying when he attempts to obstruct his funeral. Two very different accounts. It contains stories that aren't in Genesis. For example, there's an entire chapter dedicated to Esau's sons threatening to kill him if he does not agree to lead an army against Jacob after Isaac's death. Jacob ultimately shoots an arrow through Esau's chest and kills him. It's brutal and reads almost like the Illiad.
I've read parts of the book of Enoch or what is claimed to be the book. I hope this isnt a spoiler but...Enoch is next.
That is because the book is "Occultic"! Of all the books in the Apocrypha, the book of Enoch is the most dangerous.I've read parts of the book of Enoch or what is claimed to be the book. I hope this isnt a spoiler but...
I struggled with the descriptions and levels of heaven but no mention of Christ.
Enoch is very dangerous. To say it is Occultic is to be nice. Satanic would be a better description.I finished Jubilees. There are 50 chapters. It spans from creation through escape from Egypt.
The text itself is all over the place. Sometimes it reads like an angel speaking directly to Moses, and other times it reads like a litany of stories.
One thing I noticed concerning the battle between Moses and Pharaoh (technically Pharaoh's sorcerers) is it makes explicitly clear the power behind the sorcerers is demonic. They even give the demon a name, which you can look up elsewhere if you are curious.
Enoch is next.
I don't haver any problem with you reading these book. I would only like to asked which edition\translation of Jubilees did you read and which edition\translation of Enoch are you planning to read? My only concern is that you are reading an up to date scholarly source which can be trusted.I finished Jubilees. There are 50 chapters. It spans from creation through escape from Egypt.

I bought it on Amazon. It doesn't show a publisher's name -- never a good sign -- but it says Troutdale, Oregon on the back. I'm guessing some dude just took what's already available online and printed it at Kinko's LOL. Maybe not that bad but definitely on the cheap. My only concern is that you are reading an up to date scholarly source which can be trusted

I read "Unseen Realm" a few years back.Remind me, are have you read anything by Dr. Heiser?
I know book are very expensive these days but he has a 2 volume companion to the book of Enoch. It is quite helpful. He uses R.H. Charles' version as his base text because it is free.I read "Unseen Realm" a few years back.
