GOD Given Talents

GOD gave me the Holy Spiritual talent of looking stuff up and helping others with comprehension.

My forte’ love of Biblical History especially.

Here’s an example of this odd talent… to find odd - a resource pointed out to me by appointment today.

Be odd!

I have been thinking about your question.

It seems that I have been gifted with mercy... and empathy... which helps me to connect with people on a very deep level.
4.5 years ago... after my healing from decades of severe chronic depression... I was given the gift of JOY... and every where'
I go... that JOY seems to follow me onto others.

Humble little gifts but I am BLESSED beyond measure.

Exploring more odd-ness …

The Bible isn’t mythology. It’s not just rules or nice stories. It’s a living text documenting real history, real people, real events, and our ongoing relationship with the God who created us and wants to be known.

One of my favorite odd subjects is talking Jesus odds. I don’t understand algebra but…

The odds of Jesus being the Messiah, based on the fulfillment of various prophecies, have been calculated as one in 10^157 for just 48 specific prophecies. This suggests an extremely low probability of anyone else fulfilling these predictions, reinforcing the belief in Jesus as the prophesied Messiah.

Good morning,

My Spiritual gift is from 1 Corinthians 28:12, the gift of helps. I didn't realize this until 25 years ago. Truthfully, as I reflected this God revealed instances going back to the 1960s and on.

I don't hold a grudge and I don't carry trauma. Bad things happen, I experience it, I learn from it, and I let it go.

LearningToLetGo shared what I also learned years ago. When I have an extreme problem I admit it will sting, but immediately go to the Lord and asked Him to help me process it, learn from it and allow God to guide me through and let it go.

This may be the gift of God's healing which can encourage and minister to others who may be weak during uncontrollable circumstances.

God bless everyone.

Bob

Bob I was talking about you in Bible Study Class. We are in Chapter 2 of Hebrews.

Pastor Dan was talking about John MacArthur and RC Sproul passing away about the same time period as contemporary “lions” that had some radically differing views of end times yet still managed to remain friends.

We were speaking about the sting of death.
Just how much sting did each feel passing between this realm and eternity?

}}}===>>> since you personally knew MacArthur how was the sting he experienced?

What does this sting mean?

What does 1 Corinthians 15:55 mean?

Paul is describing the moment when, at Christ's coming, every believer in Jesus, living and dead, will be transformed into glorified bodies to spend eternity with God. This is the moment all of creation is waiting for (Romans 8:19). This is the moment mentioned by the prophets of God. Paul referenced Isaiah 25:8 in the previous verse: "Death is swallowed up by victory."

Now he references Hosea 13:14 to taunt death about its coming once-and-for-all defeat: "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"

It's true that Jesus' resurrection from the grave was the beginning of the end for death and the "one with the power of death, that is, the devil" (Hebrews 2:14), but for now believers still physically die. The moment we are given redeemed, glorified resurrection bodies is the instant described here: the end of the end for death. This will culminate in the complete and total elimination of death and evil (Revelation 20:14). For now, those who are in Christ will continue to experience an inner groaning, a sense of incompletion, until this longed-for moment, when our bodies are redeemed by this promised, death-defeating transformation (Romans 8:23).

Dear Mabel;

I am so sorry I gave you that impression about personally knowing Pastor John F. MacArthur, Jr. I have never met him but studied his book, The Master's Plan for the Church while at seminary during my Pastor's training in 2004 and 2005.

His teachings and sermons inspired me.

God bless you, Mabel.

Oh OK. Somewhat similar to Pastor Dan’s experiences with RC Sproul. Dan went to many of Sproul’s yearly conferences but did not know Sproul. Dan follows much of Ligionier’s Reform doctrinal tracts.

I asked Dan what would be favorite Sproul’s materials.

Ligionier which?

Dan,

I love Ligionier Ministries have admired doctrinal stands of Sproul for a very long time.

I used to communicate with a fella named George Weber who taught in an adult Sunday School there at St. Andrews.

I knew you would know the best resources to get. I’ll see if Joe is interested in any.

Really wanting to familiarize him more with Scripture to buoy him up.

He misses I know his mother so much a real handmaiden servant.

He will need a woman such as she.

Oh my I do love him so!

Thank you both so much for your enduring love and friendship.

Patty - Prayers for you today.

Ligonier Ministries is my go-to resource for bible and theological studies. I love Sproul in Philosophy too. Consequences of Ideas and Foundations, two of my favorite on dvd/cd. The Holiness of God series on Isaiah chapter 6 is outstanding. And I believe you would love the Burning Bush video or cd series where he treats Moses encounter with Yahweh. Chosen by God is another good one. They're all good!
Hope your visit with your primary tomorrow goes well. Love you and Joe!

They had a common ground in the battle... the innerrancy of the Scriptures.

Personally I prefer Sproul as far as his writings go interpreting Scripture in at least more familiar to me doctrines as a younger person being raised somewhat as an on and off again Presbyterian. I had not heard of the MacArthur Baptist type teachings especially on the end times. Students of each men truly do admire them and their leadership is carried on through their teaching materials.

I was also reminded by my wife this morning, besides the innerrancy of the Scriptures they also fought together on the issue of Justification by Faith Alone in the Evangelicals and Catholics Together (ECT) fiasco.

What does it mean that salvation is by grace through faith? | GotQuestions.org

May 17, 2017 - This is the meaning of salvation by grace through faith. Faith Alone, The Doctrine of Justification: What the Reformers Taught...and Why It Still Matters by Thomas Schreiner More insights from your Bible study - Get…

The definition of course is one only can be justified by FAITH alone in the person of Jesus Christ alone.

Personally am very careful how I even say The Apostles Creed using Greek Spirit vs. English Ghost and not Latin derived words as leaving out the uncapitalized “c-atholic” church or say Bride Church as well as use Hades not Latin Hell.

I take my vows as a follower of I AM seriously never wanting to embarrass my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ - IESOUS CHRISTOS I AM taking His Holy Name in vain.

For so many wasted years I called myself a “Christian” yet acted out of compulsions that clearly were not so.

Yes, am odd.

Widely varying views to be sure of each.
The issue with Sproul and MacArthur's beef with Rome was over the word alone. Yes, Rome will quickly say we are justified by faith, but the whole issue involving ECT, was over the little word alone as in sola fide). Roman Catholicism would not budge from their Council of Trent...

Rome anathematized the doctrine of justification by faith alone (sola fide) at the Sixth Session (1547) of the Council of Trent, specifically in Canon IX, declaring anathema anyone who says justification is by faith alone to the exclusion of all else, emphasizing that faith must be co-operated with by hope, charity, and good works, as justification is a process involving God's grace and human will's disposition, not just an initial declaration by faith.
Key Details from Trent's Sixth Session:
  • Context: The Council of Trent was the Catholic Church's response to the Protestant Reformation, particularly Martin Luther's emphasis on sola fide.
  • Canon IX: States, "If any one shall say, that by faith alone the impious is justified; so as to mean that nothing else is required to co-operate in order unto obtaining the grace of justification, and that it is not in any respect necessary that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will; let him be anathema".
  • Catholic Understanding: Trent clarified that while faith is the beginning and foundation of salvation, it must be "formed by love" (faith working through charity), and works are necessary to increase justification, not just signs of it.
  • Distinction: The anathema targeted the Protestant understanding of sola fide as a passive reception of righteousness, contrasting it with the Catholic view of justification as a transformative process involving faith, hope, charity, and works.

...but of course the Prots are the ones expected to yield.
I still wonder what other works Rome would like to add to Christ's Perfect Work?
