“He who endures to the end shall be saved?”

“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” -Matthew 24:13
I’ve heard many people use this passage to teach many different things, depending on your already established belief (and skill in eisegesis). Some people say:

“See! you have to endure to the end! you need to keep repenting every day, live a Holy life, and hope you repent before you die so you can get to heaven.”
That is someone with a Salvation by works theology, reading that mindset into the text to say something that is nowhere to be found. Some other people would use the verse to say:

“No, actually it is saying ‘Those people who are saved, WILL endure to the end and get to heaven’”
But again, even though the statement may be true, it is still an error, because it is not in the text. That is also eisegesis. So what is the correct interpretation then? It is simple. First of all, the verse is obviously within the context of the great tribulation. Secondly, it is NOT talking about a spiritual salvation but a PHYSICAL salvation.

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” -Matthew 24:21-22
Only the Tribulation saints who will be saved by grace and who endure unto the end of the Tribulation will enter the Millennium in flesh and blood bodies. They will have to endure great tribulation including the intense heat of the sun that shall be seven times brighter than normal. It will be for this reason that God will shorten the daylight hours. Scriptural support for this is found in Isaiah:

“The earth mourneth [and] fadeth away, the world languisheth [and] fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. -Isaiah 24:4-6

Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.” -Isaiah 30:26
