“On the weaponized Christan Defense of the State of Israel”

I listened to this... and somehow it made SENSE to me... and resonated deeply within my heart.

I do not have a STAND on the issue of ISRAEL. I don't understand a lot about MUCH.

But lately... I have to admit that I have WONDERED what it truly means to BLESS ISRAEL.

Somehow... condoning all the violence is not something I can reconcile...... and so... when I pray for end times.... I BLESS and THANK GOD for being all-knowing... perfect in TIMING... and ABSOLUTELY in CONTROL of it all.

I have accepted that there are simply so many things I do NOT understand about God's WAYS... and so I am absolutely comfortable stating... I DO NOT UNDERSTAND... but GOD.... YOU DO

This is pure replacement theology. The way he talks about Israel's defensive actions, I wonder how badly he would have condemned Joshua's activity at Jericho and the other places in the promised land. Remember, it was the antisemitic culture developed by the replacement theology of the medieval Roman Catholic Church that set the stage for the holocaust. Replacement theology is at its heart antisemitic.

Can someone explain to me how these two camps differ with regards to Christianity??
How does this affect the CHRISTIAN?

My understanding is this... The jews are the chosen people... and the gentiles were grafted in... so we are included as part of the BODY of CHRIST. In my thoughts... I am so very GRATEFUL that I have been INCLUDED/GRAFTED IN.

I see this as God extending His invitation to more than just the JEWS.

I guess I am interested in a proper definition of WHAT does it mean to BLESS ISRAEL?
Blessing something does not mean you have to AGREE with all the things that are happening.

That is how I see it.... I know this conversation is WAY above my head.... but for the simple person... I'm sure I am not the only one who WONDERS about this.

The Abrahamic Covenant is a forever covenant. Found in Genesis 12:1-3. Part of this covenant is God's promise saying "I will bless those who bless you, and those that curse you shall I curse." Iran has called for the total elimination of the Jews(Cursing them). More and more people are showing their anti-semitism and finding fault in everything Israel does (even when it was Hamas that started the war). By standing with Israel, The United States is showing support for them in their time of trouble (this is one way of blessing them). They have never taken full possession of all the land God promised them, this will happen during the 1,000 year reign of Christ.

THANK YOU for this.....:D

Just because I like wasting the forum paper.... HA

WHY do some/many??? ( Is it many??) Christians NOT believe then that the Abrahamic Covenant is a forever covenant??

I guess my question is..... Who started the "Replacement Theology" ?

What Iran and her proxies, Hamas and Hezbolla, seeks to do to Jews is the same as the Nazis sought to do.

I see no quandary here. Israel, for all her faults, holds the moral high ground. Just compare what you see: Israel literally holds power to annihilate Tehran and chooses to seek peace. Iran seeks nuclear arms and has vowed to use them against Jerusalem if they get them.

To deny this basic fact is to deny reality itself.

Replacement theology was started by the Catholic Church after the fall of Rome. The theology is based on the eschatological views of Augustine of Hippo. It is a theology resulting from bad exegesis and holds that the Church is the new Israel and that God has forsaken Israel in favor of the Church, but Scripture, especially Romans contradicts this view. This view is responsible for much Christian antisemitism because it teaches that the Jews have been cast aside. It is one (but not the only) reason why the pope during WWII didn't speak out more forcefully against Nazi antisemitism and the holocaust. Some even use that theology to call Jews "Christ killers" and that they deserved the holocaust based on Matthew 27:25. The interpretive overlay of Covenant Theology is the only place where Replacement Theology is found. The interpretive overlay of Dispensational Theology opposes Replacement Theology.

Personally, I view Replacement Theology as heretical and dangerous. It's being used to recruit Christians to the Palestinian cause.

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to explain this to me. I really appreciate my "big brothers" at times like this where I simply do NOT understand.
