The Lord’s Supper- What we need to have:
- People need to know Jesus:
- They should be able to say that once they were on the other side of the fence and not a Christian. But now they are on this side of the fence and are a Christian. They want to participate in the Lord’s Supper to remember that Jesus died for them.
- Baptism brings one into the community of Faith:
- This is an attachable community of faith that we can see and touch. We all believe that Jesus rose from the dead, went back to Heaven and will come again. We must have repented and received the Holy Spirit from God. Then we are added to the church just like the 3,000 people were added to the church in the book of Acts.
- We must examine ourselves to see how our walk is with God:
- What is our walk with God like? When we come to the communion table, we must ask this of ourselves. What is it like?
- We must take correction from the Lord:
- We must take correction from the Lord and others that He sends to us. God is Grace. We experience Grace once we become part of the Lord’s family and enter into His community.
