There is only one Church with many congregations. We all walk in the light of Jesus. We are one church, one Faith, one Lord and one baptism. We are all in one kingdom, God’s Kingdom. We have all heard the voice of God. We are received by and thru Jesus Christ. We are all part of the family of God thru our Lord Jesus Christ.
The will of God for each Christian is a big thing. The will of God is easier to get a hold of then what we might think. Often we think that God is removed, remote and that He has a plan that is hard to grasp right away. We think it is like climbing a mountain or running a gauntlet. This is not true. In our text it says to put on the new man, the new self. The will of God has much to do with the image that He created us in. Jesus took on the fullness of God. The fullness of God dwelt in Jesus. Christ is the image of God that is restored now. In Genesis we were created in God’s image and lost it thru our sin. So now when we believe in Jesus, we can take on the image of Jesus. We are to be conformed to the image and likeness of Christ.
In the Garden of Eden, God said He wanted Adam & Eve to be made in His image. We know about their disobedience and their fall into sin. There is the focus on the tree of good and evil which they ate from. But there was also the tree of life in the garden too. God kicked them out of the garden so they would not eat of that tree of life. Now for us, eternal life starts when we receive Jesus Christ into our heart. Jesus didn’t just come to cleanse us from sin but also came to give us Eternal Life. This eternal life begins now. We are in Jesus’ image and are to testify and bring other people to Jesus and God.
The Lord is the spirit and there is liberty with the spirit. And we who are in Christ can look and see the glory, love, life and freedom of God. God is able thru Christ to be in us and to be present with us. The glory of God is reflected in us and we can reflect it out to other people. The glory of God is with us, it is in us and it is for us to share. We are to take it out to the whole world until everyone knows about the glory of God. Until everyone knows about the saving grace and the gift of life in Jesus. The will of God is to reflect the light into the darkness of the earth. The will of God is that all know the love of God and the gift of life He has given us in His beloved son Jesus the Christ.
