A dream/vision of things to come
I’ve swapped little my trinkets
For a crown of gold
Read it in the bible
In 1 Peter 5:5
All those little possessions
That meant so much to me,
That tacky ornament
bought to remember
that time on holiday,
The first painting that my son drew
Hundreds of photos
recording life lived,
Certificates, medals, trophies
Marking mile stones…
Other precious trinkets
that surround me
reminding of life lived
Can’t take them with me
No doubt they’ll finish up in a car boot sale,
Not knowing their back history
Not knowing their priceless value
What they meant to me.
But now I’m getting my crown of glory,
Their significance fade,
Now I’m stood in glory
With the King of Kings,
Now I’ve heard the “well done good and faithful servant”
From Father God
All these thing that were added unto me
While I’m here on earth,
Helped kept me comfortable while living life,
Have all been left behind to fade away,
Now I’m here with my Jesus
And am wearing my crown of glory,
Now in heaven
With the King of Kings
1 Peter 5:5 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
