A Leavened offering

It's interesting that throughout the entire bible - Leaven was forbidden to be offered within offerings presented to The Lord *Except* for ONE specific offering.... That specific offering was Shavot/Pentecost - the in-gathering/first fruits of the Wheat harvest - where 2 loaves of Leavened bread are offered. (Leviticus 23)

Notice - this is the SECOND in-gathering of firstfruits during the year....

Now, we know from Jesus own exposition that Leaven is symbolic of Sin... but what specific sin? It is symbolic of the Doctrines of Man that are "Added" to God's pure doctrine. Why is this done? Pride... We think WE can add something to God's work. (Ref Matt 13:33, Luke 13:21, Matt 16:6-12, Mark 8:15, Luke 12:1, 1st cor 5:6-8, Gal 5:9)

Why is this? Leaven puffs up by Corrupting. The leaven consumes "Substance" and replaces it with "Vanity" - emptiness... It's end state APPEARS to be greater - but in reality, there is actually less substance after the leaven does it's work.... This is the same thing that happens when Doctrines of Man are added into God's perfect doctrines... We become "Puffed up" with Vanity into thinking that we have increased something - but our ending point is actually less substantial than our starting point....

So... To wrap this back into the first thought.... Something to think about...

We know that the feast of first fruits immediately following Passover is symbolic of the Exodus from Egypt and subsequent entry into the land of Canaan... God "Searched out the leaven" and removed the "Leaven" from Israel BEFORE gathering them INTO the land....

I am thinking that this current in-gathering of Israel has Shavot/Pentecost as a symbolic model... God is regathering Israel into the land - but they are "Leavened"... The Current Israel is full of all sorts of diverse doctrines and teachings that have strayed from God's original "Pure" doctrine.... But.. True to God's faithfulness - they are being regathered "Leavened"....

Thanks
