Picture of what God is doing today with His people (The Body of Christ)
Exodus 34:10
And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the Lord: for it is a terrible (awesome) thing that I will do with thee.
So as the lord is entering into covenant with us as believers, are you going to join into this with Him? This is what God is beginning to do.
Neh 2:18 — Neh 2:19, Nehemiah 2:20 kjv
Then I told them about how the gracious hand of God had been on me, and about my conversation with the king.They replied at once, “Yes, let’s rebuild the wall!” So they began the good work.But when Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem the Arab heard of our plan, they scoffed contemptuously. “What are you doing? Are you rebelling against the king?” they asked.
Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.
Nehemiah 2:20 nlt
I replied, “The God of heaven will help us succeed. We, his servants, will start rebuilding this wall. But you have no share, legal right, or historic claim in Jerusalem.”
So as we read in Nehemiah the beginning of the book till ch 2 we see that God has placed a desire on Nehemiah (it was really heavy in his heart, so heavy he wept, mourned fasted and prayed for many days) here is God's answer to him ch1 vs9.....But if you turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, will I gather them from thense, and will bring them unto the place that i have chosen to set my Name there. This is very similar to 2 Chronicles 7:14. If My people (which the Body of Christ is), shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
As the king and Nehemiah discuss things...God so graciously orchastrated the kings support (financially, materially and emotionallymeven provided protection for the builders) for the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem.
In the verses above.....is a conversation between Nehemiah and the people who lived in the city. And of course when God is getting ready to do something the devil sends in nay sayers to try to get people in the wrong path and into doubt and unbelief.....same is true here, but watch what Nehemiah has said to the people who are rejecting and scoffing at the idea of rebuilding the wall. Nehemiah tells them that they will have no place within the walls. Wow, how would you like to be in that place? No protection from within those walls because they are not desiring to participate or grab ahold of what God is doing.
Now lets apply this to today. God has begun releasing the manifestation of His Awesome Power within the Body of Christ. We can either choose to be apart of it or be locked outside the walls into the desert because we chose to not be apart of the rebuilding. I have heard this mostly applied to America...but i do know that if a person is apart of The Body of Christ, no matter what tounge, tribe, or nation you reside.....you can be apart of what God is getting ready to do. There is much work to be done, to prepare our churches and praying for the hearts of the people to receive. This takes money (for repairs to the buildings and roads and such) and time spent upon our knees interceding for the pastors, teachers, and those who are in the Body that God is calling to disciple the new people, and also what role we will be playing. Every role is important! And no job to small when God has askd you to do it .
God is going to need many and i mean an abundance of The current Body to teach or even just share like Priscilla and Aquillia did in acts 18:24-26 to Apollos. He is going to need people to be intercessors, janitors, cooks, people to open their homes to missionaries from other countries who are being prepared to come and evangelize, etc..... so now is the time to really be on our face before God and asking what our part is in the rebuilding of the Body of Christ. And to decied which side of the wall we want to be.
In the rebuilding of the wall in Jerusalem God used ordinary people to do the work. He used priests, people who were in government, goldsmiths, apothicaries, etc. And as we see in Matthew 22:1-14 God has lots of people who are called, but if they don't show up.....He will get others (the king went out to the highways and byways to provide guests for the feast) that have nothing better to do than to say "Sir, Yes Sir, how can i serve you".
As i have been praying about things for a while...i believe that God has also given us these verses from Isaiah 54:9-10.....For this is as the waters of Noah unto Me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so I have sworn that i would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindeness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, Saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Vs.14-17..... In Righteousness (which comes from being washed in the Blood of Jesus, His Blood is our covering so that when the Father looks upon us all He sees is The Blood) shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far lfrom oppression; for thou shalt not fear (because we have ps 91 to stand on as a promise): and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not BY Me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Behold (look, and pay attention), I have created thr smith that bloweth thr coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and i have created the waster to destroy. NO weapon formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is Of Me, saith the Lord.
One final two verses that show us where God is heading in the very near future.....Matthew 15:30-31 And great multitudes came unto Him (Jesus, or in our case the anointing of the Holy Spirit), having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus feet; and He healed them; insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb speak, the maimed whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they Glorified the God of Israel
