Agape love

Faith and Agape love are pretty much synonymous.
The question: Do I or can I really love God, someone who i can't lay hands on or mentally conceive of?
Our earthly experiences are earth bound and thereby limited. So by human nature it is not possible to love God unless He first reaches down and expresses His love to me then the best I can do is respond to that touch which can only happen if there is an identity between the two of us. Then that which dwells within is not of this earth but heavenly. Then it can be said of Abraham that he staggered not, eventhough we see in his documented life that he had a number of failings, because the focus is not on this earthly journey but instead on that which lays within.

Hello 2404;

You posted a very good thought and I agree with you.

In my personal thoughts to what you wrote, "Faith and Agape love are pretty much synonymous. The question: Do I or can I really love God, someone who i can't lay hands on or mentally conceive of?"

We are sanctified, "to make holy or set apart unto God." This is spiritual. In my earthly experience means my coexistence is with people. I am commanded to share the Gospel fluency with those who don't know Jesus and even those who do, yet still struggle.

I couldn't say this, say 40 years ago, but today my journey is more with Jesus than the earthly journey.

Does this mean I still fail with the Father or with other men and women? Yes, but I have all the faith God is right there, watching, forgiving and teaching me.

God bless
you, brother, and thank you again for sharing.

Bob
