The New York Times review of a new movie called '"American Jesus'"claims that the Creation Museum represents an “unusual form of Christianity” and is an “out-of-the-mainstream variety of Christianity.” (This review appeared in the print edition of the Times -- May 14, 2014, on page C6, and posted on-line May 13.). The reviewer states:
“The film samples an assortment of out-of-the-mainstream varieties of Christianity, a wearying parade already familiar from reality television, newsmagazines and late-night monologues. Snake-handling church? Check. Ministry aimed at strippers? Check. Visit to the Creation Museum in Kentucky? Check.”
One of the ploys of the secular world (e.g., the New York Times) is an attempt to marginalize the ministry of AiG and the Creation Museum in the eyes of the public by trying to convince people that what we believe (see our statement of faith:https://answersingenesis.org/about/faith/) is out of the mainstream of Christianity.
As anyone can see from our statement of faith, however, we hold to the same biblical positions as do tens of millions of Christians -- from many denominations -- in this nation. AiG speakers give presentations in a wide variety of denominations like Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and many other Bible-based churches. Many influential church leaders such as Johnny Hunt (a previous president of the Southern Baptist denomination and pastor of First Baptist of Woodstock, Georgia—a church I have spoken in on a number of occasions) fully support the ministry of AiG.
So, how many of you Christians reading this post would object to being included with a snake-handling church and object to being part of an alleged “unusual form of Christianity” and who are “out of the mainstream” -- just because you take the Bible as the infallible Word of God and proclaim the saving gospel of Jesus Christ as we do at AiG?
We are unashamed of the stand we take on God’s Word!

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16)
