Animals giving birth

I am no vet, but it sometimes seems that animals suffer pain in giving birth. they sweat, and breathe heavy, but they just don't seem to cry out.
I know eve sinned first, and the bible says God will multiply her pains in childhood. He never mentioned whether animals will suffer the same fate.
Do you think they do, and God just never said anything about it? Obviously animals didn't sin, so I don't know.

Via, just having a curious moment lol

Hello Via;

God bless you with yet another great question! I have thought about animals that give birth, do they experience pain? I feel that if they do, they keep their pain private but some will show signs of sweat, grunting, and it would be wise to give them their space in case they lash out during labor.

On a lighter note, I also think of the male animals. During the female animal's labor the male may get hungry and go hunting for food to feed its family but would be wise to provide an extra portion for the female who did all the work. This way the male doesn't feel so guilty for seemingly not doing enough to help. lol!

Here's a thought. Is it possible that between God's creation of animals only He and them can have a special communication, unlike us humans?

God bless you, Via and your family.

good question bob...

they didn't sin, but he placed us in command of them. I know not His logic there, they didn't need Jesus to save them, so yes, they must have an awesome connection to God. I only have to watch in awe how birds know just where to fly to when they are taking a summer vacation. unlike us we need to get the map out lol

I've watched cats giving birth, its not always easy and of course its not just one kitten, but a whole litter. But then they have more breast/nipples than humans. I'm not sure if they experience a lot of pain during birth, (as bad as women do) but I do know that cats get very noisy when they mate and it is painful for the female as the male has barbs.

I think the entire creation does have to deal with the fact that humans have sinned, so they experience the effects of it too, eg habitat loss, pollution, poverty, etc. Animals certainly aren't living in ignorance. They are aware of things in a way that humans aren't. God also cares for the sparrow, Jesus said, so as part of creation they do have a connection with God. They also come under the covenant - the one God had for Noah after the flood.

Well Adam's disobedience brought death to all of creation, so I would assume all the pain that leads up to death would be included...

Romans 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 8:20 (KJV) For the creature (creation) was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

The first death was a lamb on earth, apparently, sacrificed so that Adam and Eve could have clothing.
Though not sure why as its not mentioned they could have just made jumpers out of wool and not killed the lamb or sheep for the skin.

Animals can have terrific pain trying to give birth, if they have mated with an animal much bigger than they are. A neighbour had a small dog that mated with a much larger dog. The poor mother dog screamed in agony and had to be operated on.
I think they know God.

Animals do not sin because they do have the ability to REASON right from wrong.

They all act on instinct and uselly that is to find lunch.

Women experience MORE pain than animals because of a motre highly developed brain.

I don’t know about that...
I once watched a bird pecked to death once by loads of others of the same species. It was horrid. I don’t know why they did it but I assume they had their reasons. Poor thing was tortured and so small I couldn’t fight back.
Also, some animals like lions kill the offspring of other lions Cubs. I assume it’s about their genes that the male lion needs to keep his generation going, but what’s wrong with adoption? 🙁

Hello Via;

That is a sad story. I always thought most animals that give birth like lions, elephants and apes, would also adopt babies without its mother because of it's bond in the pack.

Again.....animals do not have advanced brains as do you and I. To a lion.......a cub is lunch!
