'Pray always' or 'Pray without ceasing".
I remember I used to think, how is that possible.
I now understand it is a condition/position not an exercise.
I expect that is your understanding as well?
Absolutely! We don't have to walk around like the monks of old, robed in scratchy, drab, brown, woolen robes, whopping our foreheads with the planks every fifth step, wood planks with out prayer burned into it, and chanting the prayer in procession all day long without eating or drinking water. That is vain repetition, like pagan, repetitious rosaries (speaking of the practice that originated with paganism, for those who don't know that). That's religion at its extreme, and it utterly fails to show a life lived in relationship with Christ. That is not it.
Never ending prayer is part of how we live a life of worship that is in spirit and in truth. It's a conversation with the Lord when not engaged in conversation with others, and realistically, it doesn't end there. All of life, for believers, is Christ.
This is the reason I stand opposed to the mislabeling of what is called the "worship service." Those who do not LIVE a life of worship outside of that place and that activity, are only going there for the show and to act out what is NOT a part of their lives, and so whatever they offer up in that place and that activity is potentially meaningless before the Lord for most!
