Been thinking againđŸ˜©

Not all my joined up thinking rhymes

How many times have we answered the phone and said “Oh it’s you, I didn’t recognise your voice”?

It took God three attempts to get Samuel to recognise His voice, (see 1 Samuel 3,) and it was only when Eli perceived that it was God that was calling Samuel, Samuel said “Speak God for your servant hears”....

Samuel was living and working in the temple and busied himself serving Eli to the point that he got up three times in the middle of the night to respond to Eli calling, as Samuel did not recognise Gods voice he thought it was Eli calling.

Question,
have we gotten so busy working for God we have forgotten what God’s voice sounds like?

Will we recognise Gods voice if/when He speaks to us?

What will it take for us to say ‘speak God for your servant hears’... A burning bush?

When God spoke to Samuel He said that ‘He (God)was going do a thing in Israel, at which both ears of everyone who hears it shall tingle’... same God today... have you heard what God has to say to you?... Are your ears tingling?

Psalm 46.10 says ‘Be still and know that I am God’

Let’s spend some time this week to be still and say “Speak God for your servant hears.”

Just a thought...

Let’s spend some time this week to be still and say “Speak God for your servant hears.”
Amen, brother.

God spoke to me. Three times he said, "Thou shalt not put the Lord, thy God to the test."

The first time I heard the sound but failed to comprehend the words.

The second time I heard the words but failed to comprehend the meaning.

The third time I threw myself at the Lord's feet since I understood both.
