Not all my joined up thinking rhymesâŠ
How many times have we answered the phone and said âOh itâs you, I didnât recognise your voiceâ?
It took God three attempts to get Samuel to recognise His voice, (see 1 Samuel 3,) and it was only when Eli perceived that it was God that was calling Samuel, Samuel said âSpeak God for your servant hearsâ....
Samuel was living and working in the temple and busied himself serving Eli to the point that he got up three times in the middle of the night to respond to Eli calling, as Samuel did not recognise Gods voice he thought it was Eli calling.
Question,
have we gotten so busy working for God we have forgotten what Godâs voice sounds like?
Will we recognise Gods voice if/when He speaks to us?
What will it take for us to say âspeak God for your servant hearsâ... A burning bush?
When God spoke to Samuel He said that âHe (God)was going do a thing in Israel, at which both ears of everyone who hears it shall tingleâ... same God today... have you heard what God has to say to you?... Are your ears tingling?
Psalm 46.10 says âBe still and know that I am Godâ
Letâs spend some time this week to be still and say âSpeak God for your servant hears.â
Just a thought...
