Biblical Mt. Sinai Discovered Provided with Pictures and Bible Verses [PLEASE SHARE]

Real life Mt. Sinai - Jabal Maqla

There is a mountain in Saudi Arabia across the Red Sea known as Jabal Maqla. The locals believe it themselves to be the Lord's Mountain that Moses ascended.

Burnt Top

The top of the mountain is darkened in a strange way. It gives off the appearance of being scored by intense heat. This is backed by the account of Exodus in which God descends upon the mountain, before calling Moses up, and His presence burns the mountain.

Exodus 19:18: "Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently."

Exodus also records an event which occurs near Mt. Sinai, in where Moses strikes a rock near the mountain, and water gushes out.

Exodus 17:6 "I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel."
At Jabal Maqla, we find a split rock shaved clean in half. We also see evidence of water erosion at the bottom of the rock.

Moses' Altar & Pillars

In the Bible, there is an account of Moses building an altar & 12 pillars at the base of Mt Sinai with 12 pilars.

Exodus 24:4-5 "And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. He got up early the next morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up twelve stone pillars representing the twelve tribes of Israel. 5 Then he sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as fellowship offerings to the Lord.

At the foot of Jabal Maqla, we find the remains of the 12 pillars next to an alter exactly in the way the Bible accounts.

Notice also, that the altar is made of non cute stones, to fulfill the requirements laid out Exodus 20:25.

Exodus 20:25: "If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with cut stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool on it”

We can find evidence of burned sacrifices at this altar as well, such as bones and charcal remains below the surface.

Golden Calf
In the Exodus, the Jews make an altar to a golden calf when Moses is on the Mountain consulting God. God is very angry and Moses burns the calf. Moses and a band of Levites kill 3,000 people for the sin of worshiping a false idol.

Exodus 32:2-4: "Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt."

At the foot of in viewing distance Jabal Maqla, we find stacked rocks with a calf inscriptions.

We also find inscriptions of people seemingly naked and dancing with animals. This fits the Biblical account after Moses returns to the Israelites it is said,

Exodus 32:25 Moses saw that the people were running wild and that Aaron had let them get out of control and so become a laughingstock to their enemies.”

Gravesite

For punishment for worshiping the false idol of the Golden calf, Moses kills 3,000 people and God inflicts a plague.

Exodus 32:27-28: Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.’” The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died.

Exodus 32:35: " And the Lord struck the people with a plague because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made."

Nearby the golden calf site, there is an ancient graveyard. Is this the site where the 3,000 killed were buried and people who died from the plague?

Jewish Menorah found nearby

While Moses is on top of Mt. Sinai, God details the famous 7 candle lampstand or "Menorah" to Moses.

Exodus 25:31-32 “Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them. Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other."

In this area, Moses also creates the above mentioned Menorah.

Exodus 37:17: "He also made the lampstand of pure gold. He made the lampstand of hammered work. Its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers were of one piece with it. And there were six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it..."

Nearby the mountain, we see a Jewish Menorah inscribed on one of the rocks. It is shown below in a picture captured in 2006. Unfortunately, this ancient inscription on the rocks showing proof of the Israelites’ existence there - was vandalized since 2006 once it was let known to the world through the internet.

Thamudic script (proto-Hebrew) inscribed on the Rocks

There appears to be a proto-Hebrew script inscribed in the rocks at Jabal Maqla. This script found in the area is not very well studied and is known as “Thamudic script.”

Dr. Miles Jones, a professional linguist, wrote an amazing book named “Writing of God” where he identifies and translates the Thamudic script and identifies it as ancient proto-Hebrew. The lower inscription says, “Died Amalek.”

This is referring to when the Amalekites attacked Israel after Moses split the rock.

Exodus 17:8-9:“The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”

Conclusion

There are also a plethora of other things I didn't mention, such as
-Dried up stream that leads directly to the golden calf altar, in which it says that Moses burned the calf and threw it remains into a stream
-A midway plateau in where the 70 elders ate with the Lord, upon which Moses ascended to the top by himself.
-Sandal markings. The ancient Israelites created altars in the shape of a Sandal called "Gilgals." This sandal shape also is inscribed in rocks nearby Jabal Maqla.
-The Dead Sea contains the remains of chariot wheels, which are from when Pharaoh and his army was swallowed up by the sea.

We are blessed to have this strong evidence today. As shown with the since vandalized Jewish Menorah, it's a miracle that we have all this supporting evidence 3,000+ years after it happened. We have the opportunity to spread this message to people and convince them to turn to Christianity. I hope you can share this with people you know who are struggling with the Faith to convince them the evidence is clear for the Bible.

Saudi Arabia is a more realistic location than the Sinai Peninsula. Two million people could not remain lost in the desert for 40 years in a place the size of Georgia, but they could remain lost in the vastness of the Arabian deserts.
