Biblical Women of God - Presentation (4-S)
I would like to present the next 4 women together as they are the mothers of the 12 tribes of Israel. What a tangled web we weave, when we first set out to deceive. The first wife of Jacob was presented under false pretense and was not the woman he wanted. God saw that she was not properly appreciated and so blessed her with 6 sons and a daughter.
Leah, mother to Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun and Dinah
The woman Jacob desired was Leah's younger sister, she is his beloved.
Rachel, mother to Joseph and Benjamin
When Rachel couldn't conceive she gave her handmaid to Jacob.
Bilhah, mother to Dan and Naphtali
Not to be outdone by her sister, Leah gave her handmaid as well
Zilpah, mother to Gad and Asher.
Genesis 29:31 And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.
