So FabricLand had a sale with % off today so I decided to take my oldest to get her birthday gifts today. We went to the thrift store she got some very nice pillow cases too for fabric and a purse to use as a pattern! I am super excited for her. She is really getting the hang of it. Enjoy her joy over her fabrics she got for her birthday!

That is cool! What do you do with your felt board? Spotlight - what a name!

We have other stores too called Len Mills, oh we can fabric at Wal-Mart too! But it's precut. Not alot of selections at Wal-Mart.

I think my fiance is planning to do a trip this weekend with my daughter for her birthday. We have a beautiful 2 floor store out in the country run by Mennonites. I also think he's going to get fabric for her too for her birthday 🎂

Very excited for her!

I plan to use it as a surface to either do puzzles on or tell stories - put the felt up on the bulletinboard. Instead of using pins, use felt cut outs and velcro. Felt can be easily manipulated so I heard, rather than have staples and pins to put paper posters and cut outs on.

Magnetic boards also work but you have to have a LOT of magnets.

When I left one library was given a lovely quilt but I currently have nowhere to hang it, I have used it as a table cloth for displays.
Fabric shops are few and far between these days - now that almost everything is made in China or cheaper countries people aren't making their own clothes anymore.

There is one emporium near me that sells a lot of crafting supplies still going so I might go there. My mum was a seamstress and we used to go into fabric shop a lot when there was one in the mall, and I liked seeing all the bolts of cloth and feeling all the textures of different textiles/materials and learning all their names. But now there are none. :-(

Spotlight isn't the same as it sells all other things as well as fabric and its very expensive now.

Funny my mother had no clue about shopping for clothes as she had always made them herself. So whenever we went shopping she would pick out the ugliest clothes for me and say they looked good on me lol.

She also when giving me any birthday money said not to spend it! I think she wanted me to slip it under my mattress to use as bedding.
