Thankyou I’ve looked that verse up.
The prince of the air.
But I’ve also just realised that he can tell us “a” truth or two.
But he ain’t THE Truth.
I realise my dreams that came true was a truth or two.
But I wasn’t in Christ at the time.

Blessings to you x

Sorry for the semantics, but I think it is essential :)

Predict is to “say or estimate that (a specified thing) will happen in the future or will be a consequence of something.”

That is: estimate or more on a set of things that need to be present that will lead to an outcome or consequence.

Thus, a prediction can be 99 % sure or can be less. say 80% or even 50% chance.

Thus, Prediction is always 99% it can never be a 100%

Because if it is 100%, it is then I think it will be a Prophesy, a Revelation, Truth or a Vision of Future.

Can the enemy can Predict?

I can only surmise, yes I think so.

There are Bible verses that says the Enemy is a Deceiver (Rev 12:9) and I think the Enemy can set things to PREDICT and to claim it is a PROPHESY or a REVELATION.

I think only God can provide REVELATION of the Future, I google “only God knows the future” and here is a related verse: “For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?” (Ecclesiastes 6:12).

If Man can predict things, I think so also the Devil can. Can the enemy set things to appear something of a PREDICTION to appear as a PROPHESY or even a MIRACLE?

I think so.

That is only a opinion based on what I know, lest I found myself guilty of what St. Jude is saying” JUD 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not”

that even the Angel Michael refused to slander the Devil but says

“JUD 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”

on another topic, i think that what made Science appeal to people... Science can PREDICT based on repeatable experiment.

but, i think: it is only people who put 100% trust in it.

as far as the Science i know.: Science is humble enough to accept its limitations, that it can only predict, that there are things outside or beyond Science that it cannot explain that happens: such as MIRACLES.

science can use extrapolation but not quite the same as...prediction. There's plenty of jumping to conclusions in science. Theory of evolution anyone?
Because experiments have to be controlled, and life usually isn't lived in a science lab.

Aside from that, predictions can be wrong. Prediction isn't based on what does happen its only what COULD happen.

With God, when you are saved you kind of just KNOW you are saved. You have that peace. Even though most of the time you can't see it with your own eyes. It's called Blessed Assurance.

Just wondering what kind of powers he has.
I’ve in the past had a couple of dreams that came true, but this is before I was saved.

Hello Via;

You're asking a great question and the response from Aha and Lanolin are good points.

Satan has limited, demonic powers and may appear to predict the future, and as Lanolin was saying, there are those who follow him (doom and gloom.)

The devil's seemingly predictions of the future are deceiving, instead only observations, deductions and equations that can lead to our justification of sinful temptation.

Predictions of the future, or prophecy when used in obedience to God - God's prophets (servants/messengers) were sent by Him as messengers to the people, therefore, the predictions of the future were/ are "spot on" since they were given by God Himself.

Think about it. If Satan were able to predict the future then he should be aware of his doom, that he is a defeated foe. In the end Jesus WINS. Yet Satan remains opposed to God. So as God continues to work in the lives of His children (us who follow Christ,) Satan continues to be at work to those who are "attracted to him" because they choose to remain dis-obedient.

Again, Satan has limited, demonic powers, but we have unlimited power to command Satan to flee!

James 4:7, 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Psalm 91:1, 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

God is our protector for all who follow Him.

God bless us all and our families.

'Can the devil predict the future?'
No, because he is not eternal but a time bound creature, subject to occurrences...
However he has much experience and all that data makes for a pretty good indicator as to an outcome.

But the Lord being eternal is in control and makes the devil's every move work according to His plan.
Even the fall has a purpose.

Good question. I think that answers to such question must come from the Scriptures themselves.

So then in Matthew 4:6 we see something very important...……...…..
"and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written---
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,’
and On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’

So from that one verse what do we now know???? Satan knows the Bible; he quoted Scripture to Jesus Matthew Chapter 4 and also Luke 4.

Now if we just think about that for a moment we must come to the conclusion that Satan knows those future things which God has revealed through His prophets and His written Word.

Since Satan is a real thing and at one time was the highest of all angels in haven, ......he is smart, knowledgeable about history (he was there when it happened), and wise. He knows how to 'read' people, interpret body language, recognize fear, lust, etc. If humans can recognize historical trends, so can Satan and his demons.

One of the organizing understandings that led me to belief was the realization that God exists outside of time, and thus has access to all points in the timeline. Thus, He can through His prophets tell us with perfect accuracy what the future shall be since it is always before Him. This is not really prediction from His standpoint, but is from ours. One of these days I'll post a thread on some ramifications of God existing apart from time.

So, as far as the question in this thread, the question is: was God's creation of the angels accomplished as part of His creation of our physical universe, or was it a separate, neither before nor after but temporally disjoint act of creation.

If the angels were created as an aspect of the creation of this universe and all its physical laws (which are really as much God's laws as the decalogue) then the angels, including the fallen devils, would be within time and would experience time as a sequence of events. They may anticipate and extrapolate, but there will be a level of uncertainty in their understandings.

If the creation of the angels was apart, or disjoint from the creation of our universe then whey could conceivably access history from outside and not be extrapolating. There are too many issues that could arise from this view to adopt it without extraordinary evidence.

YES to Satan knowing the future. Actually, He know what You know. He has read the Bible and knows what it says about the future.

Where our personal lives are concerned it’s a different matter. Only God knows those things. That’s why even the best of the clairvoyants have to admit they are hardly ever right.

Satan’s advantage is that he’s been around a long time, is gifted with great wisdom Ezek. 28:12, and over the centuries of observing human behavior has become very intuitive where mankind is concerned. He can be right enough of the time to impress and mislead mere humans. This is why God has forbidden us from being involved with those who claim to know the future in Deut. 18:9-13.

IMHO, there is no such thing as "Psychic's" or Clairvoyant's"

There is however such a thing as "Swindlers and Frauds".

The frauds merely swindle us but the others are those who have knowledge and consort with the devil, whether knowingly or unknowingly, and his intent is always to draw us away from God.

Psychics and clairvoyants just get premonitions, but only after it's happened can they then say its right. Their premonitions can turn out wrong, which is the basis for charging other people (predicting disaster for you, then charging you extra to avoid it).

The info they get is dubious from the 'other side' which often doesn't even know any better than the side you are on right now. So why place your trust in a random bunch of spirits that don't know God is beyond me.
