Can't Unsee It

I am very careful with what my daughters and I watch. I had a friend that was talking about Jesus Revolution movie. Now I haven't seen it. I have heard some things. I am just not comfortable watching or listening.

Part of the reason is I can't unsee things. If something doesn't sit right with me - it sticks with me for a long while. I also have Complex PTSD - my symptoms have been managed [praise God!] I need to be diligent to what I watch. If it has touched others I am absolutely excited for them.
I am so glad. I, myself am always on the side of caution ⚠️.

I have taught my daughters the same thing. They have watched things in the past and it comes back to their mind - it is a struggle. Temptations etc. For me with the things I have watched and been exposed to [as a child] those [demonic movies] images are burned into my memories. I cannot unseen it. I can describe them of great detail. Timing, where, when, what was happening.

Most of the time my TV is off. I am not a big TV watcher except for sermons, various Christian channels, catching up on CBN, etc.

People have shared the links and have told me I should watch it, I will be bless. Part of me is just not interested. Not my cup of tea. I think that's okay.

I'm with you on that. Things we are exposed to is a seed planted and if it doesn't line up exactly with the Word it can be a tool for Satan however he can use it against us. I agree and desire to be very careful what comes in.
Brings me to another thought. We know that during the millennium Satan will be bound by circumstances for after the thousand years he will be loosed for a short time, implying that judgement has not yet been past therefore he is still in a state of possible transition. The thought: how will all doors be closed to him and how will his entree, after the thousand years be made possible?
As said, just a thought - but interesting.

My location is not served by cable TV. For awhile after we moved here my wife and I had satellite TV. We decided that it was too easy to turn on the tube and have it be a background within out home. And we did not like the billing practices of the providing company. At the end of the contract we got rid of the satellite.

We do have several DVD/Blu-ray players hooked to several TVs and we do have internet via cellular hotspot.

We do not miss the TV. We are selective on which DVDs we purchase. We limit our time on the Internet (though I confess that I do check in via my phone).

Sometimes it is good just to talk to each other or get outside and enjoy the woods around us.

Well.......I have not seen it. And may I say that there really isnt a lot of Good Christian movies.

Fireproof is one. Courageous is one. Facing the Giants was good and in it is said......"“If we win, we praise God. If we lose, we praise God!”

What ever you do...........Do not watch NOAH!
The one with Russell Crow!
Absolutly the most Bible butchered movie ever produced.

We were half way thru Noah and we kept saying this isn't biblical! I had a full blown migraine. We never finished it. It was awful.

Yes we have seen the others.

I never knew who the "Creatures" were that helped Noah and fought off the crowd.

Then I turned it off when a man stowed away on the Ark.

Terrible- Terrible movie !

When people post you tube videos on here I ignore them for the most part because I would rather read than watch anything.

I think a lot of tv is very damaging, and I am careful too about what I will watch. I know what I can tolerate.

I had a young boy in school and he couldn't handle graphic books with too much violence in them. Also very young children are actually offended by nudity! I have had to hide away books that have nude pictures in them. They might be biology books or whatever but I don't have porn in the library either.

Some librarians are not bothered but I am. I also pay attention to ratings on movies, so if its G or R or whatever. Some people don't care, they'll watch anything that's put in front of them. I'm not one of those people.

Noah was terrible, I remember going to see it and being quite disappointed it didn't stick with the Bible.
Sometimes I will wait for a bit for reviews before deciding to see anything - not one of those people who will always go see a movie on the first day it comes out or just because someone asks me. Also since movies are so expensive you don't really want to waste your money or time!

Same way. I am always very leery. Prayerfully discerning.

Hey Lanolin;

Was this the movie from years ago made for TV? Was there a part in the movie when people used little boats with foot paddles to approach the ark asking Moses to let them board? Also, while Moses was on the ark he was using jars with lids when they weren't invented back then?

😎
lol!

No it came out in the big screen...a friend asked me to go see it with her. It starred the girl from Harry Potter - Emma Watson was Noah's wife.
I was expecting a lot of scenes with animals but was very disappointed that there was hardly any and Noah drugged/sedated the animals by burning some kind of incense making them all go to sleep.

Then there was a plot involving Tubal-Cain trying to stowaway on the ark attempting to kill Noah and his family. And after hour of so of dark clouds and rain the big reveal I was expecting a beautiful rainbow and doves flying round etc but it was nothing like that.

The thing about Noah is Crowe is a devout Catholic and obviously had no issue with its content. Which made me wonder if he was fully aware of what they were going to put into the screenplay.

Bad movie. Absurd and unbiblical.
Darren Aronofsky made the film.

Just as bad was the Moses film. Exodus, God's and Kings, with Christian Bale.

The other thing was at the end Director Ridley Scott dedicated it to his brother who committed suicide by jumping from a bridge.

A film that claimed Moses was brain damaged, Schizophrenic, and that's why he heard the voice of God and saw visions made me wonder if he liked his brother. Or, if his dedication reflected his dead brothers state of mind before his death.

Hollywood types insulting the patriarchs of the Tanakh and making millions for their trouble.
