Check this out, interesting EPH 2:2

Epehsians 2:2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world.[a]

In the English language it seems to explain obeying the devil, but in the Greek it is different.

Removing the context of the devil all together, and expressing obeying a ruler - is the spirit in this context using the greek meaning those in spiritual darkness who are in disbelief and obeying instead the ways of Man instead of the ways of God by walking in disbelief (spiritual darkness)?

Found it very curious any thoughts about it? Using the word devil - explains adversary though in Greek in this letter devil is not expressed, disbelief is instead.

Have a good day! God bless and take care!

I would offer in that sense we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but the rulers in high places some under the influence of the god of this world as well as places our father in heaven reigns places of faith our new born again hearts. You could say the place of the heart the place of our new treasure

In the end it would point to the devil or Legion. I think you could say one world government under the god of it who offered all the Kingdoms of the whole world if Jesus would worship the spirit of lies.

The man of sin (2 Thessalonians) must use mankind, the things seen to spread Legion’s lies as false prophecy coming from oral traditions of faithless men. It is called a law of the fathers, kings, princes .(a high place) or you could call it the abomination of desolation. It makes all things written in the law and prophets (sola scriptura) desolate. We cannot serve two teaching masters in that way. The temporal things seen, and the unseen eternal things of faith. The phrase “as it is written” makes the Legion god of this world disappear.

2 Thessalonians 2:2-4 King James Version (KJV) That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Satan (Revelation 20:4) was exposed and fell . He could no longer deceive all the nations. . The veil representing the fore flesh of the Son of man Jesus signified as our bloody husband of circummssion it was rent from the top to the bottom to acknowledge it was inspired from above as all doctrines of God .

There was no man sitting there showing himself that he is God. God is not a man. The gospel witnessed to the whole pagan world to include the Jewish nation. 3000 new sons of God as the bride of Christ again signified as our bloody husband in the twinkling of the eye.

God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God It is the abomination of desolation .

The same one he made desolate hearing and shown moved from within by walking out never entering . Is left desolate not will be.

Mathew 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

In that way we are the temple not made with human hands..

Hello Garee;

You present a good outline of both sides, and from both sides there are consequences.

Follow Satan and in the end, when you die you will die. Follow God and live because in the end, HE WINS!

Whom will we serve?

God bless you, Garee.

Thank you for your comment Via, and Garee, and Bobinfaith.

You are right about not wrestling with flesh and blood. If you fought against another person what good would that do.
It would make sense though the person that is being at war is with-in yourself. Waring between darkness of self vs the light of Christ, the flesh and the spirit. These two war with-in the believer as they live our their entire life.

If you choose to build up the spirit the flesh dies down, if you let your flesh rise up the spirit dies is tarnished which can be only maybe a short period of time.

Scripture is very help with the promises that are made, to people now who choose to build upon their faith while living in this life, as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Funny though sometimes not everyone has that type of time, those who are spiritually strong should be able to lift and encourage others by the holy spirit that is with-in them towards others when you are lead to do so.

Today the scripture me and someone went over was a profound scripture. God has been slowly teaching me things that are normally missed when reading alone, and believe that if you are given the chance to share and read the gospel with someone and they let you share do so but do it slowly, and give some thought and allow them ask questions.
The scripture is of a woman who suffered for 12 years bleeding. For 12 years she tried everything in the (worldly) sense of getting doctors to help her but they could not do it. She heard of Jesus Christ - who just so happened to be coming with-in her town this day -, and heard of his miracles, healing blind, sick, lame, paralyzed people. She had found Jesus and simply - thought to her self- if I could just touch his clothes, she would be healed. She did so and was healed freed from her suffering.

How profound and what an amazing picture this is. No matter how long you go through life, 12 years 26 years, 52 years, and you can hear of Jesus, and take time to read his gospel, you can become spiritually reborn, in trusting in Him, by just placing him in your thoughts! This is what happened to this woman.
She heard, then came to, then thought, then believed, and was made whole again! All of those years worth of trying to find relief, was made instantly right then and there. (This can happen to anyone spiritually!) This is the picture being taught!
Jesus Christ tells her that her faith has healed her, and to go in peace! (Mark 5:24-32)
