ACTS - LORD OF ALL.
The historic sensation caused by Jesus` resurrection from the dead is crowned with the glory of His ascension.
`…while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.` (Acts 1: 9)
After the Lord`s ascension, He demonstrated His power at Pentecost, and showed that having divided the languages at Babel He could speak to each group in their own tongue.
`And when the sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.` (Acts 2: 6)
Then under the Lord`s sovereign administration of the gospel in the power of the Spirit, each race receives salvation. (to all)
Ham - Ethiopian eunuch, (Acts 8; 26 - 40)
Shem - Paul of Tarsus (Acts 9: 1 -31)
Japheth - Cornelius the Roman centurion. (Acts 10:24 - 48)
The Ethiopian eunuch, who represents the race of Ham, receives salvation though believing the Word.
Saul of Tarsus, who represents the race of Shem, is interrupted on the way to Damascus and submits obediently to the Lord.
Cornelius, the Roman centurion, who represents the race of Japheth, likewise responds to the message.
From Shem, Ham and Japheth the seventy nations arose that are recorded in Genesis 10. Cornelius responded to Peter with spiritual insight, declaring,
`He is Lord of all.` (Acts 10: 36)
Throughout the book of Acts we read that the Apostles preached of the Lord Jesus Christ, quoting from the Old Testament books, in Jerusalem and then by the Apostle Paul and His disciples further afield.
