Luke 14
Verses 13:14
Verses 13:14
“But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
For God so loved the world, He gave His only son. The most famous verse in the Bible; we are poor when it comes to the riches of the Spirit. Jesus did not come to lead the rich and obedient but the poor and sinners. This is to bring hope to the lost, that there is a place for everyone and not only the well known.
Verses 34:35
Salt Without Taste Is Worthless
“Salt is good, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Good salt are Christians who have taste; faith and the lost taste are those who have lost their way with God. Those that do not repent don’t get restored and is thrown away. Those who listen and have a relationship with God hears his guidance and teaching.
Salt has 3 important qualities: Taste, preserve, destroy. Taste is referring to the love we have for people, even our enemies. If we don’t love, we don’t have taste. We preserve our faith by having a relationship with God. Without Him, we destroy everything we have built. Or it could mean: to be divided amongst non-believers; our family and friends.
So the question is, how much are you willing to give up to be with God? Is the love you carry God’s love? Will you preserve your faith and trust in Him?
