Here is an excellent study about the things most don't ever tell you about the place, the people, and the objects surrounding the birth of Yahusha:

Those Shepherds Knew Exactly What To Expect When The Angel Said The Baby Jesus Was Wrapped In Swaddling Clothes And Lying In The Lamb’s Manger
The Bible tells us that the baby Jesus was laid in a stone manger at Migdal Eder, the tower of the flock where spotless lambs were born.www.nowtheendbegins.com
by the tower of Migdal Eder very interesting i ran across this many years ago and you are the only one to ever bring this out .no i dont believe this was just ordinary shepherds. they was Levitical in charge of the sacrificial lambs . nothing happens by chanceHere is an excellent study about the things most don't ever tell you about the place, the people, and the objects surrounding the birth of Yahusha:

in another forum way back when i posted this.. lol i drew down the big eye and eyebrow of that is so completely wrong . after seeing you bring it up.. i still lean towards this as a very good possibility. its like simeon prophecy over the Christ Child . it was not just by chance he was there. the HOLYSPIRIT led him there. imo i dont think he knew in advance Jesus would be there. just go and as help the child the words come out of his mouth .they marveled. i really think there are times we are to speak but not sure what we are to say. its good to study and outline a message God has given us. But we best leave room for the real preacher to speak . been a few times i was asked to speak a message and said yes not knowing . the scriptures or what to say.Good stuff, F61. I like seeing the deeper things of parallels and imagery the Lord incorporates in not only what's written, but also in the prophetic events as they play out in reality.

the swaddling clothes was strips of cloth to wrap the baby in . sometimes salt was used in the them.. others felt it was foreshadow of his death being wrapped in linen . many a times i would loved to go to farm that raises sheep. and ask questions a strangers voice they will not follow . parallel to scripture Jesus is the good shepherdMerry Christmas!
I hope wherever you are and whoever you are with you are celebrating the birth of our Saviour such a joyous occasion.
As for lambs in swaddling cloths I haven't heard of that..but then I haven't been present at the birth of any lambs (probably would if I lived on a farm). Lambs are bought to slaughter at 6 to 8 months old not right at birth.

I wonder what would have happened had King Herod actually found Jesus and had him killed when he was under 2 years old. Would young Jesus' blood still have paid for our sins? Without being crucified? I don't know how Herod killed all those boys though. Did he drown them?the swaddling clothes was strips of cloth to wrap the baby in . sometimes salt was used in the them.. others felt it was foreshadow of his death being wrapped in linen . many a times i would loved to go to farm that raises sheep. and ask questions a strangers voice they will not follow . parallel to scripture Jesus is the good shepherd

Well in Moses time it was drowning. Thankfully he was saved. But they did have to go through the ten plagues.Hello Lanolin;
The way I understand from reading Matthew 2:16, Herod had the boys killed but I don't know by what means? By the sword, drowned or a soldier's blow to the baby's body?
Had baby Jesus been killed by Herod, would this have been an act of paying for our sins? It's a good analogy but it would have had an impact on the accountability of one man (Herod) being responsible.
no but herrod was not going to find him.. God had this planned ahead f timeI wonder what would have happened had King Herod actually found Jesus and had him killed when he was under 2 years old. your right it does not say how the deaths took place.The way I understand from reading Matthew 2:16, Herod had the boys killed but I don't know by what means? By the sword, drowned or a soldier's blow to the baby's body?
it was prophesied this would happenYea you can't think what would have happened and you (and everyone else) probably wouldn't have been saved if that hadn't happened.
Though plenty of young, innocent baby lambs have been sacrificed in the meantime....
personally i dont see it . i go back to the fullness of time in GalatiansHad baby Jesus been killed by Herod, would this have been an act of paying for our sins? It's a good analogy but it would have had an impact on the accountability of one man (Herod) being responsible.
LN, no. There are absolutely no alternatives to what actually happened. Conjuring up hypothetical scenarios is an exercise in futility. The timeline, as it played out, has no branches off into the science fiction fantasies. Nothing goes astray from what the Lord predestined as the timeline as it should be in the entire outplay of His plan for humanity.
In other words, my friend, musings of what might have been, that is a rabbit trail not worth traversing. It's a dead end. It's fiction. Any possibilities one may contrive in their own mind is fruitless and not at all worthwhile. Those alternatives simply were not at all even a possibility.
