Conviction_ Or _ Condemnation ?

Conviction is when we sin and God gently tries to lead us away thru that quiet voice. We feel guilty about our sin and rightfully so. Condemnation is when the devil makes us feel guilty over sin that we have already repented of or about our past.

Idk that's my experience.

I like that answer. God convicts/convinces us of sin so that we may turn our faces back to him.
God's objection is to bring us to take our place with Him.

Satan condemns us: he judges us guilty, and would sentence us to an eternity without God.
He tempts and seduces: then when a man falls into sin, satan then accuses us...

Before I got saved I figured once dead-that was it; nothing else.

Or I figured I was going to hell anyway 'if there was a god '.

Praise Jesus that someone shared the Gospel with me! (Thank you Dave....)
 
I am going to put a different spin on this.

Conviction comes before the sin. Had it not, then we would not know we sinned. A violation of Light given, A violation of conscience.
You can still have a Conscience when no scripture covers it, Like sitting through that "WHOLE" Horror movie when something in you told you 'NO' 10 minutes into it.

Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

1Ti 1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

So conviction would be something I could not do in faith, with a pure conscience. That could be anything. This is why it's stupid to ask if something is good to do or not or scriptural. The questioning itself gives the person the answer.

Condemnation: (I assume Self-Condemnation)

Will always come after violation of Conscience, faith. This is not the devils fault, and can not be escaped if we willfully violate our conscience or conviction or Light given.
Sin carries a penalty. That is "OUR" heart condemning us before God.


And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
(1Jn 3:19-21)

Satan has nothing to do with this, we always have a choice to listen to him or not.

 
Interesting that no where in the New Testament does it present that the Holy Spirit "convicts" a believer of sin. There is a spirit that brings sins to remembrance and wants believers to doubt the righteousness we have in Christ? That spirit is (satan) the accuser. The Holy Spirit is not showing us (believers) our sins...that is a error of doctrine conceived in the pit of hades.

Heb 10:10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,
13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"
17 then He adds, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."
