Currently Snowed In

Good morning, Siloam;

Is this your home? Wow! Look at all that space!

When I was a boy we lived in snow when my Dad was stationed in Germany. These were some of the best times of my life especially during Christmas.

I hope you can get your snow blower to work. I can't imagine you using a shovel. lol!

God bless you, brother.

Yes, this is the home my bride grew up in. She loves it here so when we retired we sold our house in Virginia and bought it. I originaly had two snow blowers. I gave one to my neighbor. I need to go and check on him since I haven't seen him in a few days (he is probably waiting for better weather as am I).

I am getting a little slow and creaky in my old age (I will be 73 this year). I now have to walk with a cane if the ground (or snow) is uneven.

I could go on about the trials of growing old here but I find it much better to concentemplate the blessings I continue to receive.

Hi Bob,

When I was a boy, I lived in Southern California (Riverside). They do snow much more intelligently there. Snow happens in the mountains. You can go up there and play in it, but it doesn’t make a pest of itself in the valley.

One weekend just to win a friendly bet I went sledding in the mountains in the AM, then drove to the coast and went surfing in the same afternoon driving back to my starting point in the evening.

Actually, I remember one winter when snow fell on San Gargonio Mountain and then a colder snap happened and the snow blew off the mountain and we had enough to have a half inch (or so) on the ground in Riverside.
