Dangers of education

Why do we educate? We want to get a handle on things. Why do we want to get a handle on things? So we can exert some form of influence on the matter.

We don't have any say over God's Word. It controls us we don't have any/none control over it.
Scripture says, what you bind on earth is bound in heaven, and that is true but the binding is not of our own volition. It is a doing, as is predetermined in heaven, so it is not us but Him working through us.

Hello 2404;

Happy Good Friday and Resurrection Day this Sunday.
🙂🙏

What you wrote (from another angle says to me:) "Why do we educate? We want to get a handle on things. Why do we want to get a handle on things? So we can exert some form of influence on the matter" in this order equates to submission to God's Word.

God bless you, brother, and your entire family.

Thank you Bob
And may the Lord continue to bless your ministry.
You know a person studies Greek, Hebrew, Biblical Criticism, anthropology etc and gets to thinking they know something and all it amounts to is spinning in our own little circle, which is not really where it is at. I expect you will agree with me that we sit still a while a consider God working in our lives it is so far removed from our thinking that we can see that we are our own worst enemy. God doesn't need us to explain anything He does His own work we just need to yield ourselves. So often it refers to people in scripture to being stiffnecked, to me that means they are caught up in their own thinking. They might not necessarily be bad people but they are simply unteachable. All i ment by my comment was that all our learning it may railroad us into being stuck in our ways. I'm not of course against education but let's not let that be our plumb line. When scripture tells us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling I believe it means more reverance, not so much talking but more listening.
Anyhow, not to ramble on too much but I think there is something consider.
Again, thank you Bob and God bless.
