Did Jesus die the Second Death for us?

Now there is much in the Bible about going to the grave when you die, but this is just the death appointed to all.
Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

But we have in the scripture what is the the second death which is the penalty for sin...
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Did Christ die the second death on the cross, let us go over it. God the Father was present at the Cross but a separation is evident at the point that Christ cries out, 'why have you forsaken me'....
Matthew 27:46
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Mark 15:34
And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Christ suffered the total separation from God the Father which is the sinners ultimate fate, yet He had no sin of his own. So how did He come to be separated from God, it was our sin that He took on which was the cup before Him.
Matthew 26:39
And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Matthew 26:42
He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

So He suffered the death, the second death, that we deserve to save us and allow us to be redeemed by His blood.
Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
As having overcome and not sinned, He was raised up and gone to heaven to be our advocate before the Father.

Acts 2:24
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

1 John 2:1-2
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

You raise a very interesting question.

Yes, because his sacrifice permits us to be saved from the second death, which is hell.

Which would mean spiritual death in Lake of Fire, apart from presence of God for all eternity, but Jesus never died a spiritual death as word of faith teaches
As a result of Christ's sacrifice, not a single follower of Christ will experience the 2nd death (cf. Jn. 3:16), but every single person who chooses not to follow Christ will definitely experience the 2nd death. Case closed.
