Do you sometimes wonder about eternal life?

We are guaranteed eternal life, yet do we know much about what life would be like, say in heaven? I get a bit nervous about that. Surely I am an older fool but my original family died young and I think about those Christians from time to time.
Are we just to imagine?

I think we are given glimpses and revelation about it in the Bible but God probably has a lot more in store for us than we realise.
Why would you be nervous? I think we'll be washed clean and those things that hurt us on earth will be totally not even be remembered in Heaven.

i think your pretty close to how it will be .love the hymn what a day that will be

Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Hello harriet;

You ask a great question that a lot of people ponder. Many times I also think what eternal life in heaven will be like.

Each day in my personal prayer, Bible study and application, what if this whole faith thing has been in vain? When I die does everything become nonexistent, just a big blank?

I feel God knows all His Creation, therefore He understands that our reflections, questions and imaginings are going to cross our thoughts. He does understand that we are still men and women with a brain that fills our thoughts that we cannot control.

I thank you for opening this up, harriet. Know why? People all over the world are holding that same question inside themself and no doubt are scared, especially when they don't know who to go to. But many on the world wide web may be reading this topic and will feel they're not alone and this can encourage them to press on in their faith. We're not lone Christians.

I also think of my Mom when she died young at 65. It happened so fast. I'm going to be 65 next month and have to get tested tomorrow for possible covid. Long story. So the timing of this topic does help me to share my thoughts.

I join you in those moments when I also get nervous about the outcome of our lives, and in my prayers to God, I choose Him and lay my praise, worship and thanksgiving at His feet, then ask Him to sort out my question about what eternal life in heaven will be like, and will Jesus know me when He goes to the Father?

Thank you, harriet, for Do you wonder about eternal life? Absolutely, sister!

God bless you, your whole family and Happy New Year.

What! Have you been exposed Bob?
I've been tested several times, we had one case at school but thankfully was the last day and it didn't spread to anyone else at school. Thankfully all the teachers and staff been vaccinated, though our children aren't yet.

Sorry I don't mean to talk about covid on here (as is very sad and depressing topic) I know it's always in the background tho.

I think that if someone has died, and no matter WHAT they died from, if they believed and confessed Jesus He would have saved them. I also believe those under 12 (ie. all children) have angels guarding over them and Jesus saves them too because they hadn't learned right from wrong, and they have little rights or control over their lives... Jesus doesn't bar them from entering the Kingdom.

Hey Lanolin;

I go in tomorrow to be tested and will post what happened tomorrow.

But I'm fully vaccinated and have been negative since March 15, 2020. Please pray for me that it's still negative.

I'm sure you will be ok and pray for a negative result!

Funny how we pray for negative instead of positive these days negative is good and positive is bad. If you are fully vaccinated even if you are positive your body will fight it off better.

ETERNAL LIFE” is not a thing to be possessed, but it is a WHO. In John 17, Jesus Himself provides us with the definition of ETERNAL LIFE:

John 17:3........
And this is ETERNAL LIFE, that they might know You, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Personally, I have never spent any time thinking about heaven. Why use up any precious time now thinking about something you have no Controle of.

Any of my family had the same opportunity I had to believe and accept Christ.
