Does your church have armed security guards now?

In the past couple of years, my church has innated training for security, and since Mi is a concealed and carry pistil permit state, we also do have them armed and ready now, and the members doing security are police, ex military pretty much now

No. Our Church is in Los Altos, CA, a pretty peaceful community and part of the South Bay (Silicon Valley.) It's encouraging that our GenZ's and Millennials in their respective career fields have increased in their Christian walk and Church attendance.

The former Church I pastored was in Daly City, border of San Francisco. When reports of shootings at Churches, etc...was happening around America, we contacted our local police departments (there were two) and they sent an officer to attend our service.

He had a gun so when I preached I hoped the message didn't offend him. lol!

But that's about the extent of it.

Large churches can financially do that.

It is a sad commentary but every church should be prepared for the worst. Today, every church is a SOFT target.

We however had 6 people positioned in the church who were trained by the local police dept. on identifying what might be a problem.
We have a local Jr. College that trains police officers and they offer a 2 month course in weapons use and all of our people went to it that carried weapons.

Better safe and prepared than wishing you had been.

That is because Canada does not have the 2nd Amendment which says....."We have the right to bare arms".

Because the USA was born from War, it was decided by our forefathers that an armed militia was needed to guarantee the safty of the government.

James Madison contrasted the federal government of the United States to the European kingdoms, which he described as "afraid to trust the people with arms", and assured that "the existence of subordinate governments ... forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition".

In other words, England and France and Spain will think twice about invaded a well armed bunch of farmers again!

It is also THE reason what the USA will never be invaded. Every country that could do it knows that there is a gun in virtually every household.

son lived awhile down in texas, and that is an open carrying state, as people have loaded shotguns and rifles inside trucks on the gun racks! Remember early this year when down there someone started shooting inside a texas church and he got chased out when he came under fire from church members themselves

What is interesting to me os that in the USA< Chicago has very restrictive gun rights, yet its like the shootout at OK Carrol every weekend,
As of mid-November 2025, approximately 364 people have been killed in Chicago in 2025, with the vast majority of homicides involving firearms. This represents a significant decline in gun violence compared to previous years.

That is due to the total breakdown of law enforcement and DRUGS not men with guns. Guns do not kill people, PEOPLE kill people.
Chicago along with several other cities want to be "hands-off" = allow total and complete illegals aliens to come in.

Yes, for if we wanted to now outlaw all weapons used by terrorists and killers, would have to now eliminate automobiles, as that seems to be one of their preferred weapons of choice now
