Dream, story, parable or testimony?

Last year

(Church on the move)

Last year I asked
What can I do?
What can I do for you
what is it you want me to do
in this church today?

You said “there is one task I need of you,
don’t worry
You won’t need to stand up,
stand out in front of the church”

“I want you to sit at the back
Right at the back of the church”
Look at the empty pews
Empty seat in front of you”

“Pray for the soul I’ve allocated to sit in that space
Not just Christian butterflies
Resting her for a while,
But souls that has found their Saviour
New names in the Lambs book of life”

Last year it looked like an impossible task
Last year
Last year it took some time,
Only just managed to pray
for one row at a time,
But now I’m struggling to find
A vacant chair,
A soul to pray for.
Answers to prayer!

It not the preacher
Not the building
The worship
Not even the empty chairs,
But the faithfulness
Of those who were chosen and answered the call,

For you are ‘receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls*’,

“Keep praying til the seats are full to overflowing,
Then I will text you the next project”

“pray, ‘As it is in heaven’…

Amen”

Hey Alan;

If I remember, you shared that you sit in the back pews, correct?

Someone once said God's prayer warriors are the ones who quietly sit in the Church. While I preached I could see most everyone in the sanctuary;

Some were looking at their cells, some were nodding out (how dare they! 😠) but the ones who were serving God were the ones sitting quietly in the back.

God bless you and thank you for sharing Last year (Church on the move)

Busted!!!
Didn’t think that anyone would remember
I was challenged last year to pray for the souls who have been allocated the empty chairs around me in the Sunday service
I am blessed to be part of a church that’s growing
But being a grumpy old man I’m resident on the back row
Recently Answering a challenge/ call to prayer I’ve 1,819 days left of a five year prayer project
I’ll share more later maybe, or when I’m prompted to go public

P.s it was God who challenged me and praying for people to be prompted in the same way
It all starts with just one voice( a cue for a song I think!)

Hi Alan, I just read this to my husband. As I finished, I looked up to see that he had tears starting in his eyes. You see last Sunday, that is exactly what he preached!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful gift. You are truly inspiring and appreciated.

-God bless!
