Faith vs Perfect Faith

I understand there is considerable controversy in regard to the ministry of William Branham. But to make a point let me use an illustration.
Many miracles took place in that ministry, so the man had faith.
On one occasion he seen a vision of a particular baby that was going to be healed so he went over to those folks and told them what he had seen. So straight away he went and prayed for that baby and the child got worse, then he realized 'the hat wasn't on the chair the way it was in the vision. He himself couldn't place it there because the events in the vision had to unfold just right, so all he could do was wait. Long story short - the hat finally ended up on the chair and then he knew it wasn't just him doing it, it was then 'thus saith the Lord'.
He then had perfect faith.
