Romans 4: 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, , 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, 24 but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.
Speaking about Abarham, when God promised him that He would have a seed that would amass bigger than the stars in the sky ? Or something like this.
Genesis 15:5,
NIV: "He took him outside and said, 'Look up at the sky and count the stars--if indeed you can count them.' Then he said to him, 'So shall your offspring be.'"
God made a dead man alive. Abram was promised and did not stagger or waver at the promise that God gave through unbelief. Instead was strengthened in faith, and gave glory to God.
There are other promises God makes.
Paul asked 3 times to God; to remove a thorn in his side, but God said to Paul
That is something all people have a choice to make if they believe that God's grace is sufficient enough.
Paul might have not had these thorns tooken away because it would have made him prideful; so instead it caused him to be humble ; to keep us in place that we do not become prideful.
Thank you for sharing Bob.
