Hello brothers and sisters;

My wife and I visited Filoli House and Garden in Woodside, CA. William and his wife Agnes Bourne and family occupied the mansion and garden from 1917 to 1936. After the death of the Bournes, William and his wife Lurline Roth bought the mansion and moved in 1937 to 1985.

Attached are the photos where we visited the mansion. Enjoy!

Hey Lanolin;

I don't think the Filoli mansion had ghosts but the two owners, the Bournes, had a gold mine and was president of a water company in SF. The next owners, the Roths, owned Matson Navigation Company, a major ocean shipping services.

We enjoyed the tour but was only allowed on the first floor which was a lot of rooms.

Imagine being the owner or being in a family that owned a gold mine...of course, they can never accuse the wife of being a gold digger then. Maybe the second wife!

In Arrowtown in NZ they have a gold mining part of town, and they still have some of the stone huts the chinese gold miners lived in. Very basic accomodations!

Ah yes shipping. At one time the richest man in the world was Aristotle Onassis, who owned a shipping company.
My brother works on super yachts, and its interestng to hear how wealthy the owners are and what they did to make their fortune. A yacht is just a toy for them. And they always want a bigger one.
