God's Many Blessings (Blessing # 6 - Water)
When God created the world the heavens and the earth were both covered with water.
Genesis 1:6 (NLT) - 6 Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.”
And so we have rivers, seas, waterfalls, lakes and the list goes on.
We need water for so many things, the countries that have many supplies of water have great blessings. We need it to drink, to cook and bake and for personal hygiene. Plants need water to grow, fish need water to swim in, and animals need water to drink.
Countries without water cannot survive without help.
Exodus 17:6 (NLT)
"I will stand before you on the rock at Mount Sinai. Strike the rock and water will come gushing out. Then the people will be able to drink." So Moses struck the rock as he was told and the water gushed out as the elders looked on."
How much do we take this blessing for granted?
Also water is used at baptisms, christenings.
Jesus taught the Samaritan woman at the well, of 'living water'.
And Jesus explained:
John 4:13-14 (NLT)
13. Jesus replied, "Anyone who drinks of this water will soon become thirsty again. 14. But anyone who drinks the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life."
May we all stay thirsty for the words of God, and follow in the steps of Christ.
