I do not like Good Friday. Going through Christ's sufferings tears my heart up. It was brutal, horrific, evil, barbaric ..... Each year I feel it more than the year before. I am left in a dark place, watching the Messiah being tortured and murdered, as if I am there and doing nothing to help Him.

It was our fault, everyone of us. The guilt lies heavy. The sorrow is deep. I love my Lord and look what I have done to Him. Tomorrow is the saddest day of the year.

What do you do on Good Friday?
What does your church do on Good Friday?

Worship the Lord Jesus Christ!.

‘Good Friday’ came to be used, possibly because of the belief that Jesus’ sacrifice was good news for humanity, as it paved the way for salvation and eternal life. The crucifixion was a brutal and painful death, but it was also a necessary step in God's plan for salvation. In that sense, the crucifixion was "good" because it opened the door to eternal life for believers.

Good Friday is part of the mystery. God knew since before creation that he would come to earth in the form of Jesus and die on the cross.

We tend to think of creation as something God did in the past, but truly it is still ongoing and will continue to be ongoing until the end of time. We are bound by the limits of time. God is not.

i sat down read the the book of john from his arrest to time he came to his disciples . a interesting thing in john he takes time to note the presence of Mary Magdalene she was first to be noted showing up to the tomb .

Isiah 53 :7
He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.

some important words to remember it is finished the payment for our sins HE is risen the ability to have eternal life He is coming again .our hope

Dear Cosia;

I'm blessed by what you share in your thread, Good Friday

Most people don't give a thought or care about Good Friday. But you express what it means to you and this inspires me and many others because it's on your heart.

Commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus on the cross is a big deal to those believe. Jesus, thank you for the cross.

What I'm going to do is attend Good Friday service at 730pm tomorrow evening.

God bless you, sister, your family and I am including you in my prayers this Good Friday.

Usually am fasting but the whole 40 days before Easter Sunday is part of the fast. Though Good Friday is the day of the crucifixtion. Traditionally its passover and families are meant to have their passover evening meal at this time. (usually, a leg of lamb - Jesus being the lamb of God)

Also families would have unleavened bread up to this point (crackers) to recall the Exodus. Some churches hold very solemn services to mark the crucifixtion but I'm just mindful of the sacrifice Jesus made. Thankfully here we have a holiday which means shops and everything are closed and we can all rest.

Hot cross buns are sold up to Sunday. The cross reminds me of Jesus sacrifice.

I don't tend to do much on Good Friday. Rest. I'm so busy working up to that point that am grateful for the day off. I look forward to the Lords day when He rose again.

My fast this year is not buying any new books until after April for the library. I think last year I quit facebook. I didn't end up going back to it after all, though there's no reason why I couldn't, I just learned to live without it.
