Polluting the ears,
Hath God said?
Fogging the mind,
Hath God said?
Dripping down the pages, discoloring the fingers,
Hath God said?
deadening the innocent heart,
Hath God said?
Transforming childlike trust into critical disdain,
Hath God said?
Questioning what was once held so dear,
Hath God said?
Snaring myriads into his his hideous net,
Hath God said?
Entangling our feet unto nowhere...
Yes! God hath said!
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (Genesis 3:1)
