Having a Clear Conscience

There are 31 references (my awareness) to "conscience" in the Bible, all of them in the New Testament. The implication here is that the conscience is directly correlated with Holy Spirit, which resides in the believer; a benefit not afforded to those of the OT. The Bible refers to "grieving Holy Spirit" (Ephesians 4:30), which, relative to the topic presented here would be a "dirtying" of the conscience and thereby desensitizing ourselves to the sensitivity afforded by the presence of Holy Spirit within us.

I have my own conclusions based on this but what do you think?
