Henry Kissinger

Hello Wan;

I was a young boy, teen and young adult when Mr. Kissinger was National Security Advisor and Secretary of State in the late 60s and 70s. I remember the Vietnam war and how Kissinger was involved as an advisor to President Richard Nixon. I recall Kissinger couldn't run for President because he wasn't born in America.

I wasn't politically inclined back then and I don't have an opinion regarding his 2017 interview with Michael R. Galant of the Harvard Crimson.
I feel if we were to read up on his past regarding the same subject no doubt we would get extra versions for and against.

God bless you, Wan, and your whole family.

I don’t know the answer to your question about why he did not have moral integrity but I also think of some bible characters that appeared to not have moral integrity too and was they led to commit such questionable deeds and by God!

Maybe Henry had some kind of knowledge we didn’t.
But I think I would have hated Henry’s job.

Just wondering how you feel about Henry Kissinger. He was a top-level US politician, who should have moral integrity that is beyond reproach. Yet he was known to have said this: "The illegal we do immediately; the unconstitutional takes a little longer.” You can see the original article here: https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2017/1/31/galant-welcoming-war-crimes/

Just wondering how what he said makes you feel.

Mr. Kissinger had a real problem with morality AND power. Unfortunitally he choose power over morality.

May I say to you that Mr. Nixon as president was a terrible, terrible and notoriously anti-Semitic man. That is not a news flash as it is well known.
He pontificated to his chief of staff, H.R. Haldeman:
"The Jews are irreligious, atheistic, immoral bunch of bastards... [Washington] is full of Jews" and "most Jews are disloyal...But, Bob, generally speaking you can't trust the b______s. They turn on you."

Mr. Kissinger worked for Mr. Nixon and had no quarrel with Nixon's racism!

As President Nixon's National Security Adviser, Kissinger was complicit in the illegal secret bombing of Cambodia.
He insisted that the FBI continue the two-month wiretapping of suspected leakers of the illegal Cambodian misadventure to enable the targets to establish a "pattern of innocence."
Mr. Kissinger defended the United States intervention in Chile to overthrow President Salvador Allende with an arrogance more to be marveled at than imitated: "I don't see why we need to stand by and watch a country go communist due to the irresponsibility of its people....".

Now having said that.......I would be hard pressed to say that I would allow anyone to look back at me and what I said and did 50 years ago.

Hello Major;

After reading your post I was not aware of Mr. Kissinger's past. So when you said, "generally speaking, you can't trust the b_______s, do you mean brothers? 🤜 😎 lol!

Greetings;

I thought he was the biggest liar of all the politicians. He called the super blood-thirsty Red Chinese leaders
statesmen and visionaries. That's why he got in passed the Red Dragon Curtain.

bye

Hello Wan;

I'm curious and keeping in the realm of our fellowship, what led you to share about Henry Kissinger? It did peak interest with other members who could relate to Mr. Kissinger during those times.

God bless you, sister, and your family.

Well where to start with Henry. Henry did say a lot of things. BC34F83F-EBC4-46B2-98E9-F0F541FF84E5.jpeg A true statesman for worldly affairs. But certainly not from a Christian perspective
