Winnowing....
Luke 3 - The testimony of John the Baptist....
Luke 3:1-18 - focusing on Luke 3:17....
"His winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat to the barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire".....
Note - The Threshing floor is an idiom referring to the Temple - the entire Levitical Religious Complex.... 2nd Samuel 24:16 - 18... The Threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite WAS the site of The Temple....
Testimony that God was going to sift THOSE who claimed The Name of God upon themselves.... It's interesting to see that this same thing is going on Today within God's church... Both in Europe and in the USA - though Europe is farther along...
This has been going on in The USA starting in the mid '60s... and now - 50 years later - we are nearing the end of the last generation which learned "Christianity" in public schools.... The last generation which pursued "Respectable Careers" in the Clergy.... The youngest are in their mid 50's now.... Another 20 years and all that will remain will be the memorial plaques....
We are at an interesting crossroads.... Sadly - as a Church - we don't seem to discern The Truth about the effect that this will have... that while there is some bad - there is A LOT Good.... That this change NEEDS to happen WITHIN the church - because just like in Jesus day - the PRIMARY persecution of the pious has been coming from WITHIN the church - not outside in the world...
