The world is watching us and often times our words and actions do not match!

John 13:34-5 (The Message)
"Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other."
1 Corinthians 13 (The Message)

The Way of Love

1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. 3-7If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
8-10Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.
11When I was an infant at my mother's breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.
12We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
13But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.
1 Corinthians 14:1a

Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it—because it does.
It doesn't matter what we do or what we say, if we do not LOVE, it is NOTHING.

1 John 4 (The Message)

God Is Love

7-10My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can't know him if you don't love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God.
11-12My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!

This is certainly a very true comment. The world is watching us and often times our words and actions do not match!

I am convicted of this daily. I try to remember what I say and how I believe need to match up with my behavior. It's truly a work in progress. I am not making excuses, but I know we are not perfect, either. With that said, I do believe we can do this and do believe we should strive every single day to walk with Christ and be an example to the world without causing someone else to stumble.

The closer I get to God and Jesus the more this comment rings true for me. I need to walk in this conviction daily. I hope I do, and I hope I never make excuses for my behavior. Thank you for sharing this and what a great reminder.

I want to be authentic in all that I do. I am currently working on walking in the Spirit at all times. It can often be difficult as I get busy at work and forget. I will become irritated with a coworker, etc. The enemy is always looking to throw distractions at me, it seems. However, I have done this before and I know I can do it daily. I need to train myself to walk in The Spirit in everything I do and I know my actions will truly match up to my words.

I am so glad to be a believer in Christ and I am so glad he died for me since I am reminded how weak I can be without him.

Have a great day.
