I Asked of you just one thing!
Do you remember walking around the church carpark
Asking God the spaces to fill?
Sitting in church with plenty of seats to choose from…
But choosing the back row?
More empty seats than souls meeting to praise God?
Was it post Covid?
Got out the habit?
Couldn’t be bothered?
Or was God spring cleaning
Getting rid of dead wood?
I wasn’t asked to preach the gospel
Stand and greet at the door,
Lead worship
Busy one’s self on committees
Help with the youth.
No,
Just one thing He asked :-
Go walk round the car park
Count the spaces
See My vision for them all to be filled,
And when you sit at the back of the church,
An ideal vantage spot,
Look at all the empty seats
See them, in His spirit, filled
Pray for the souls,
He will be sending
those who have been allocated that specific seat
Those who will come to salvation
Extending family at your church
The pray doesn’t take as long now,
As nearly all the seat are full!
And if you want a parking space
You might want to consider car sharing
Cos arriving after ten
sorry, the carpark’s is full!
Well done good and faithful servants
You did what He asked,
Your nothing special…
You listened,
Caught the vision,
Was obedient
Prayed.
Saw the fruit of the harvest,
Time to pass the baton on
job done!
Another little task successfully completed
By Gods discrete faithful army
Of anonymous soldiers
Sat on the back row!
